Is there any utility that will convert a RealAudio file to an MP3? Obviously a workaround would be to record the RA file using TotalRecorder or some other recording software and saving as an MP3, but is there an easier way?

Boilsoft RM to MP3 converter (http://www.boilsoft.com/rmtomp3/)
$24.99 and it does it very quickly.
dBpowerAMP Music Converter (http://www.dbpoweramp.com/dmc.htm)
Can convert anything to anything, FREE, converts in real time.. so a 3 hour .ra file would take 3 hours to convert to mp3.

Mikey, I have a program at home that was taken off the market because it worked so well, unfortunately I can't remember the name of it right now, but I'll look for it when I get home later and update. It works very well.
Real Producer is also a good program for converting some Real Audio files, if I'm not mistaken though what it does is convert the file to wav, and from there you use a program like Cool Edit or Steinberg to make it into a mp3.

I think you're talking about Streambox Ripper. If all the other suggestions fail & you want this one, I have a copy of it (and thunlimitted use code) as well & would be glad to share.

This thread a couple of years old, obviously. Does anybody know of any other free programs that convert RA files?
