so, the posthumous elliott smith cd came out this past tuesday. i went to the store early on tuesday to pick it up, and have already listened to it many times. i was just wondering if anyone else has heard it, and what your thoughts are.

i think the album is beautiful. it's a little rough in some places, i'm not sure whether that's purposeful or just due to elliott's untimely demise prior to completing the album. it would have been fairly depressing lyrically anyway, but in light of his death, it seems even moreso.

so, what do you all think?

I haven't heard it yet, but I've been hearing good things about it.

Please excuse Furie.

He's a Rush fan.

Its a great record. I like that the production is kind of rough. It fits his music. Im glad they were able to put out this record after his death. I always liked his music.

Im glad they were able to put out this record after his deathi'm really glad they were, too. from what i've read, all the recording was pretty much done. so, the album is basically what he wanted it to sound like, just without the finishing touches or whatever. for that reason, i think i prefer it to another great posthumous album, jeff buckley's mystery white boy. while i love that album, i would have liked to hear how he would have liked it to sound.

maybe this should have been a posthumous albums thread...

Nah. That would have just been dominated by Jimi Hendrix and 2Pac.
