X-Mas Party???

Well with Halloween this weekend and November the day after, that means the holidays are fast approaching.

Are we going to have another Xmas party this year? And if so will it be at Dave and Busters again?

Last two were pretty fun. Food was good, drinks were good and hanging out with friends for the holidays are priceless.

D&B first year was cool, second year was maybe 1/3 of the first year's attendance, so it makes no sense to attempt something that "ambitious" this year. And as long as people who want to spend time together can just pick a location, what's the difference?

I don't have any preferences one way or the other. I just think that a bar or a bar/restaurant environment like Jillian's (http://www.jillians.com/) are nice or anywhere in the city are good. It doesn't have to necessarily be something where we rent a room but rather just congregate and hang out like back in the Bar 9 days.

I agree with Hosp, Poopie and Snoogie. It doesn't make sense to rent out D&B again when the turnout will most likely be even less than the few that showed up last year. The only problem with that is people who have to work on Monday. I definately would not go to a Sunday event. Maybe we can do the official party at Dave and Busters, and an unofficial one at Red Rocks for those he can do the whole Sunday thing. Then you get the best of both worlds.

May I make a suggestion to a place. St Marks Ale house on St Marks Pl, between 2nd and 3rd Aves. The bar has plenty of seating for large groups, serves bar food, lotta lotta beers on tap, and a kick ass jukebox. The place is moderately crowded on a Sat night but around 11-12 the place just empties for some reason. Its like the crowd has a curfew or something. You end up having the place to yourself.

So theres my suggestion.......

I think the lady might be onto something...along with DW. Hoboken would be a smart choice for a few reasons.
1) There are plent of restaurants/steakhouses which everyone can attend. Including Duke and his mom.

My wife (for my X0 birthday )got a hall, keg , boxes o' wine for about 200 bucks!
She took care of the catering and accessories and dropped about another $200.

Ok that's $400
I'll get the Dj for about $150

That's $550.

If 20 people show up, that's $12.50 per head.

If 40 - $7.50.


and so on.

okay first i only read 1/2 of the first page but i did read the whole 4th page.

Mastoris does have great food but if you're looking for a bar sort of atmosphere that's the wrong place. It's more of a diner, well that's at least what we consider it down here, but it's sort of above a regular diner, but below a franchise restaurant. their food is fantastic, and they cater and everything so it's not exactly like a diner, and it's a nice place. but when i see the other sorts of places people are listing, mastoris just doesn't match up.

plus it's down here in south jersey..i might actually be able to come without catching a ride so we all know that won't happen.
