2 new "coloured" ipods

I'm still happy with my 40GB regular ipod but here are 2 new ones:

Shouldn't the ear buds be black?

iPod Photo: $499 for 40GB (vs $399 for the music only iPod like I have) and $599 for 60GB (Must be the toshiba mini HD's that iPod nuts have been yapping about for months)

I'm not impressed with the photo ipod but the black one looks cool.

iTunes 4.7 came out today as well...

They should make a purple Price Special Edition iPod

That was FAST. 3rd party companies already have accessories made just for the U2 iPods which were just announced yesterday. I have yet to find a store that sells the iSkin for my 4G that I got in July.

Oh and the iPod Photo has a 15 hour battery vs the iPods' 12 hours. Both 40GB and 60GB iPod photo model are thicker than the 40GB regular iPod: 0.75 inches vs .69 inches (or 0.57 inches for the 20GB) so I guess they were able to get a larger battery in there and not make it much bigger, Nice. But and extra $100 isn't worth it for photos

You tote your iPod everywhere, right? If you're like us, your iPod is always close at hand.

The iBeam flashlight is surprisingly functional when a quick beam of light is required in a dark car or doorstep. The iBeam laser pointer is an amazingly powerful red laser beam that is capable of being seen over a quarter of a mile away. Need we say how much fun this could be?


This is pretty true, I take my ipod wherever I go. It would be cool to use it as a flashlight.

Now if they can add the ability to pick up XM radio I'd be in heaven.

$500-600 if you want to look at your crappy snap shots while you listen to your music. (up to 15,000 songs OR 25,000 pictures)

or $350 to listen to U2 while you advertise their new album (which is Black and Red like the U2 iPod) (But you only get room for 5000 songs)

I don't know about you but I was looking forward to seeing what an Apple designed special U2 iPod would look like. The marriage of these two mega brands and creative power houses should have produced something leaving the masses drooling and wanting. An atomic explosion of design and substance.

Instead the U2 iPod looks like the A-Team van.
