I like him! He's been a lot of fun the last couple of nights, as we slowly learn more and more about him.

The story about him and his wife's inability to communicate on the phone was pretty funny last night. It shows that he not only has a sense of humor, and is able to laugh at himself, but that he already knows the phrase, "Are you mad at me?" - both of which will take him far at WJFK!

Welcome Giant Brian to the R&F Family!

I think he's good, too. For some reason that line to Fez about "your beard touched my face and it felt like girl hair" made me laugh.

I do have to say that Wonderboy would have gotten a neck slap if he turned in the "Translate that Mexican" game.

His creativity level is below any I've heard on Ron and Fez....his games are deadly show killers. He has the comedic abilities of a kids party clown, but keeps trying to be funny anyway. His lame interjections during the show are nothing but annoying and dull. At least Wonderboy was funny while he was being obnoxious. There's not much humor in this tall, monotone speaking Republican.

I think he's funny without trying to be. Like Curtoid said it's good that he's able to laugh at himself, that'll take him far, the whole getting ragged on and almost going over the deepend bit is kinda played out so this is a nice switchup.

I dunno if im the only one who thought of this but when he made the Godzilla sounds the other night and R&F said it's funnier in person bc he does the little trex arms i immediately thought of the show where they were ragging on Joe Poo in front of Sweet Melissa, how he can't hail cabs bc of his trex arms.

Anyway, Giant Brian is a good addition to the show.

I just don't get why he's always hovering around in the background of the show, adding nothing to their conversations. With that serious (fake sounding) radio voice it seems like he's better suited to the Bill O'Reilly program. He obviously wants to be heard on the air way too much.

I was actually thinking about Sugar Ray Wagner today and was hoping he was doing well. He did bring some great comedy to the show, but it must have been a really shitty experience if he fled for North Carolina for (if we are to believe what they said on the show) for less money.

My opinions are purely based on who I perceive is talented enough to be on microphone. I still think Ron and Fez are the best entertainment on this station, but sometimes the hired help can be a drag listening to on air. I just wish they'd let go of the string and have this "Kite" fly away.

The last I heard, Fidel was gainfully employed at the Classic Rock station down the dial...

Congratulations.

..and I'm not him!

Oh. Ok. I've been wrong before...wait...no I haven't. I must have been mistaken.

My opinions are purely based on who I perceive is talented enough to be on microphone. I still think Ron and Fez are the best entertainment on this station, but sometimes the hired help can be a drag listening to on air. I just wish they'd let go of the string and have this "Kite" fly away.

My response was based on your insiders agenda against The Hideout, which has spilled over on Ron and Fez several times this last year:

Unfortunately for Ron and Fez, the door to happiness here in D.C. has been deadbolted shut from day one by Cameron Gray. His nefarious (behind the scenes) activities to drive the boys crazy and off JFK have finally been realized. Now the door is freely open for his pals in crime from the Hideout.....OH HAPPY DAY!

So don't say a word, femboy (Tommy Bats).......you don't know who you're messin' with.

If Billy's assessment of Ron and Fez being so miserable at JFK is correct, then what is the true cause? I still maintain that it's Cameron and his Jefe agenda putting the screws to them. There's obviously no lovefest between Cameron and Ron & Fez, while his relationship with El Jefe is like with a brother (the special needs one who rides the short bus).

I really could care less if you really like or hate Giant Brian. I have no idea of knowing what your true intentions are. What I do know is that this last year you have done nothing on this board except be a flame thrower.

You may call me a "flame thrower" Curtoid, but my opinions about the helpers on their show usually mirrors Ron and Fez's. Ron is starting to say more and more that Giant Brian was "Cameron's choice" and not who they wanted. Cameron continues to undermine the program, while his toyboy El Jefe has never progressed past college radio talent.

I'm blaming Giant Brian for Ogre leaving. I was just starting to enjoy Giant Brian until he started hassling Ogre. What happens behind the scenes, who knows but it seems like GB feels threatened by Ogre's abilities and the fact that most people like Ogre (in contrast.) Giant Brian then puts Ogre in situations that he thinks he can control to make Ogre look bad. I dislike Giant Brian so much that I googled this forum just to find other people who think Giant Brian is a tool. Hopefully this starts some kind of flame war. I think the next game show on Ron & Fez should be Everybody Hates Giant Brian in the same spirit of Everybody Hates Crazy Jen.

Ogre is a great guy, and it didn't work out. It's never a good situation when you are brought in by someone who ultimately isn't your boss - especially when you both come in really close to one another, and both have strong personalities.

But, Brian is the paid employee - someone who beat out 200 + candidates for the job (the same people who believe R&F didn't have a hand in picking him still believe Fuzz Whatley was real), and even J-Dubs (who brought Ogre in) agreed that Cameron really had no other choice.

Really, really sucks that they couldn't make it work for one more month - until the end of Ogre's internship.

Ask Curtoid Mojo; he knows whose opinions are right and wrong, as well as Ron and Fez's opinions.

What a shock - attacked twice in one thread for defending Ron and Fez against the rantings of a former insider whose shit can still be smelled inside WJFK. Nice company there.

Strong personalities is one way to put it. I don't think that there's even a question about who should have stayed. It is Giant Brian. He's an employee and Ogre is an intern. There's no doubt about that. It's not even worth discussing Brian leaving instead of Ogre. It is worth discussing Brian's Tool-Box status. Who will Brian alienate and ultimately drive away next? Ultimately I don't think it really matters. Brian will not be leaving and it's not worth anyone from the Ron & Fez show standing up against him. He's probably very good at what he does. Brian could have been cool about the whole thing and not antagonized Ogre and it's like you said, curtoid, it didn't work out. There's that whole Jerk dynamic that is hard to get past.

I'll never fly a kite again. That's a joke btw. I have nightmares about a future, "Ron & Giant Brian," radio show.

Mike Teacher
11-30-2004, 10:51 AM
To avoid confusion, I think GB as a producer, is the best they have had in a long, long time. He's been nothing but cool in emails to me. I like em.

Ogre lost it in the meeting, and that's no good. The call was made, and in that setting, it was the right call. Whether people agree or disagree is another matter entirely, but if the meeting went as said, I dont see GB or Cam or whoever had any other option. Simple.

Who knows. With time...

I don't care who likes or dislikes who on the show, I just want the best R+F show there can be. The antagonism between intern/producer makes for some great stuff, and sometimes some deadly stuff. It's all in the listener.

I don't dislike Orge; but he did seem unprofessional. He was out a lot and was not one to let things roll off him. Gotta admit this; too bad for Ogres bad back; coz it would make a kickass Main Card on a Night of Fights.

Which reminds me why Al was indeed Gold. The final fight, the Loser Leaves the Show fight. Al was super-psyched, ready to go, and then at showtime, with the street literally blocked off for this event; he says he wont fight because the mat was wet from rain. I personally tried to contain myself, thinking 'OK, theyre going with a bit', but he was so Honest and so... Al about it. Just matter of factly '...mmmm no I dont think so...' as a crowd below gathered like right out of frigging Frankenstein. And he kept going and going... hell maybe there was an actual delay, but if I had been next to him at that point, I, and from the phone response to this, and just about every listener, wanted to Kill Him.
