My neice got these two puppies. The first one is now 9 months old and the new one is 3 months old. They never raised dogs before so they have no experience, and I grew up with a dog that already had learned.
Whenever I let the dogs out, the older one takes off into the woods chasing squirrels and I (or anyone) cant get him to listen and come back or stop running. The younger one has been good but I see that shes been not listening now too because she sees the older one not listening.
How can I get the dogs to obey commands?

start off by putting them on a leash and walking around the areas they're allowed to go.

give them a little bit of slack and work on the command "come" not cum... thats another lesson i will not be a part of.

when they return to you give them a treat... rinse repeat until they come to you on command.

when they seem to be catching on (this will take awhile) let go of the leash and let them wander, when they go too far say come and let them go to you. again treat and eventually you will train them to be able to wander on their own.

same ritual for sit, stay, roll over, attack, etc. command- show them- command- response-treat.

if it becomes a problem you can always get an invisible fence. or shock collar. those are cool

hope it helps
