I catch repeats a lot of the newer episodes and have probably seen every episode before season 10 about 3 times. Honestly, the show hasn't been a "must watch" since about Season 7.
Now its really just a cartoon, rather than arguably the best comedy on tv.

I was always hoping to take over.
Matt Groening is my inspiration, my idol and my biggest influence.

This show has NEVER jumped the shark. It's been great since the 3rd or 4th season and it STILL kicks ass now.
Simpsons are the shit.
Futurama is a killer show as well.

I have an old tape with the complete Tracy Ullman show segments; those little ten second bits kicked ass. And wow did they look different then. More Evil.

The man behind Springfield's favourite residents - The Simpsons - says it is becoming increasingly hard to develop new storylines.
Matt Groening has signed a deal with the voices behind Bart, Homer, Marge, Lisa and co taking them up to a 19th series in 2008
If it's that hard, why sign for 4 more years? Why not end it with 15 seasons? That sounds like a nice number. If they are burnt out now, they'll want to kill them selves by 2008

Tonights ep was the worst episode ever, not one laugh during the whole thing, It used to be even the bad eps had at least a joke or 2 usally during the first break but tonights was just stupid, The flanders bit probaly would have worked in an episode by its self instead of being shoehorned in to this abortion

i havent watch the simpsons in years but it seems really sad to me how they had this really orginal and hilarious show and turned it to crap. in the end it may have be on for 20 years but there were only about 6 good seasons

I can only afford so many DVDs.
And the only time the show Jumped The Shark was when they had former President Bush move across the street.
That's it!

I only found The Passion of Cain and Abel funny last night. The rest of the episode kinda sucked, and unfortunately, the suckage has been going on all season. They either need to get some new blood writing the show or hang it up.

I've only been watching the reruns for the past 7 or 8 years, but now there's almost a 50% chance of seeing a bad episode. With every season the ratio gets worse.

I gave up for a while there, but recently I've been watching it because I have battered wife syndrome with the Simpsons. I'm guessing that I'll just get all the good seasons of DVD's and stick to that though once the show is off, because there are now so many bad episodes it's hard to watch the reruns.

Things really should not really last to long. People just run out of ideas at a certin point. And then the show just goes down hill.

Jimmy Fallon kissing Drew Barrymore -- on the field, on live TV -- right after the Red Sox won their first World Series in 86 years. In fact, they were shown in a closeup within 60 seconds of the final out. And every Red Sox fan is determined to pretend that this never happened, and that it didn't taint the moment even a little bit ... so it wasn't a huge deal.

how come so many episodes recently deal with homer and marge breaking up?

its never gonna happen for real and its not very funny as a joke

obviously after however many years of marrage marge wont leave him for just being stupid

its like the writers dont know or care for the characters

they shouldve given up a few seasons ago, then come back fresh when they had a good set of writers

You also can't forget about the one where Lisa goes to the phsycic...and it shows the future of her wedding, that was the episode with maggie being interupted. the one with lisa as president and lincolns gold was, marge had maggies daughter (which was a baby that looks exactly like maggie) and maggie just wasn't there.
