Oh man, i really thought he was going to be goign down for the new producer job when I first read this. I am kind of upset that he is not.

How is the new guy?

Brian is great - very funny and smart and seems like can go with a bit. I think he'll be open to a lot of things. A real test, however, is when he has a say in the next wave of interns and can put his own stamp on things a bit (not a slam against Ogre or Portobello, who are funny as hell and do a shit loud of work, it just must be odd that he's stepping into a situation where he's having to get up to speed from the interns).

He's very different from what they've had on the air before - he really likes R&F and is impressed by them, but he also seems like he can do some ball busting back. It's going to take a lot to break him!

Brian is very cool. A great radio personality, and hopefully a good producer...honestly, in his delivery and style, he's like a less brilliant Mike Teacher...which is maybe why the two apparently don't get along?

I only wish it were a bit. Hey, I talked to the guy on the phone last night, seems nice and everything, but when I heard the Production on the Osama thing he did I sent Ron an IM telling him it sucked, which it did.

But hey, so does the vast majority of shit I send in! But they seem to be using a lot of my shit lately, so...

I'll give him the benefit of a doubt for now, but if you listen to the show, Ron started the 'this really isnt your gig, is it?' -type comments long before I sent in a critique.

And 'Translate That Mexican' his game show, lasted how many calls last night? I didnt say a word, R+F both thought it stunk on ice.

Ron is trying to work him into a character, which is why he's said what he's said.

Brian applied for the job and got it based on his experience elsewhere. He's not a wet behind the ears kid. He's still getting up to speed on all of the personalities that surround R&F (the "groupies"! - ha!).

From what little I've seen, he's been Johnny on the spot with things that don't get recognized on the air. Moments after Marion Barry gave his interview after winning Tuesday night, Brian (on his own) swiped the audio and had a 30 second clip ready for air - shit a producer should anticipate. They even had a caller on the line that, as it turned out, set the clip up. It came across pretty smooth, I thought.

I'm rooting for the guy because R&F need to surround themselves by people who make their lives easier. Should be interesting tonight to see how they play off "old producer/new producer."

On air? The other two I can see as a matter of opinion, but Al blew Rory out of the water on-air. Rory was a good producer behind the scenes, but a virtual non-entity on the air.
