Nov 4th Tehran Iran, the beginning of the Islamic Revolution. Also a dark day for America when the US embassy was overrun and Americans were taken hostage for 444 days. I remember the filmclips of people burning American Flags, burning effigies of Carter and the signs of Death to America. Very disturbing. Many consider it to be the catalyst of modern terrorism.

Thankfully the hostages were released the day Reagan was Inaugarated

I remember this. I was young, just starting first grade. I of course didn't really understand what was going on.

Carter really taught them a lesson!
