new version is coming soon, and i've entertained the notion of offering alternative methods to viewing a thread....

do you guys like the format used on the new york radio message board?

you will have the option of the current format and this one, which more easily allows you to view who responded to what within a thread, but you lose the linear nature of the version we have now...

Jeff, the R+F board seems great to me, one of the best, wait Ive never seen another.

Can we make some suggestions? OK; heres three things I want:

1. Hot Chick Pics thread pictures also get automatically emailed to me.

2. I want to be able to write in Chinese.

3. We definately need a feature that give out the ladies home addresses and phone numbers.

I think the current format is fine, and if you did want to replace it, you shouldnt do it with the one thats used on the NY Radio board.

I read Slashdot.org Nested, but it is a different type of conversation. It is peopl commenting on an article. it gets Nested when people comment on a comment.

They also have a moderation system which comes into play.

Prolly not a great example on how to chnage this board.

I stink.

Back to C++ and SQL programming for me. I will leave the web page stuff to the pro's.

I like it the way it is now. The format on the NYRMB is just a half-assed barebones message board format, and it sucks because in order to read everyone's posts, you must click on each individual reply. Don't ever do that to this board.

Seriously though Jeff, I like how things are now. You can read it and there is not a lot of unnecessary clicking to read responses. The way it is laid out now, it is more like a real conversation. I just use different voices for each character. Still working on the Mojo voice though. Can't get it quite high pitched enough.


...and if you change the format I won't draw you funny pictures anymore.

The only things that I'd like to suggest are:
1)The things Katylina already said.

2)A search feature for the file library.

3)Make it so when you want to paste something into a post you don't have to do it paragraph by paragraph.

As far as the layout, I love it the way it is. I find much easier to read then 99% of the boards around.

Ahh, I see what you mean. It's like going into a chat room and putting a user on ignore so you cannot read anything that they write.

I still want those PMs fixed so I can delete them all at one shot. I'll end up with carpal tunnel syndrome just from trying to delete all of those PMs one by one.
