I need a helping hand

i would like to do a breast cancer benefit show (my girlfriend lost her mother last year, and i just lost my aunt a week ago) , but i don't know where to start. I could get a space to play at, i can get the bands, but i need some help getting contacts with charities. i know hosp is big into walking for cancer, and ( i believe) setting up events. and actually doing this i'd like to get different styles of bands, and DJ's of different styles to mix it up. if any body can help me, it would be appreciated. and any kind of advice would be helpful PM or in thread would be cool.
