This is getting deep. Why is it that it seems almost more okay than it would with a girl? My sons are 8 and 9. I've already had to have conversations about appropriate touching and the difference between respecting authority and someone taking advantage of them.

If the question is whether or not this situation is the same as a man raping a 9 year old girl, the answer is simply yes.

If we extend it to teenagers, honestly the double standard has to apply because when a teenage boy gets a girl pregnant, he has the option to simply ignore it. When a teenage girl gets pregnant, you as a parent have to deal with it.

My sons will be taught to use protection, good judgement, and self respect. They'll probably jerk off like monkeys until they each get an unsuspecting teenage girlfriend at which point they'll stumble through the rest of their teenage years in a frenzied quest to have sex whenever I'm not there.

If God blesses me with a daughter, I think I'll just try to teach her that sex isn't love, and that just because someone wants to bang her, it doesn't mean they'll love her. I think you may be assuming that we,as well meaning parents will help the boy ignore the problem he has created for himself.

When it comes to this, HELL NO!!

As a single parent, I would never help either of my sons avoid their responsibility.

I just meant that the basic premise for the double standard lay there. Even if you have sons and they're involved, the kid is at the other parents house, the teenage girl has to deal with the pregnancy, and the main caregiver for the child will almost always be the girl too.

Actually sometimes Lifetime has the crazy women movies... like the one with Judith Light where she went nuts when her husband left her and drove her car into her husbands living room while he was having dinner with his new wife.

I thought that was Meredith Baxter Birney. I remember because I was laughing while watching Elyse Keaton screaming "Nazis!" at the cops who dragged her off.

We can all agree that the women did something wrong. The kid may be a little messed up, but I don't know how badly. I say we feel for the child, hope the lady gets whats coming, but enjoy the situation because it never happened to us.
