Ok, maybe I should've explained further, Pearl Harbor (a day late) & John Lennon.
The night that Al was in they were talking about Billy's displeasure with the way he was dispatched from the show, and Ron's response to the conversation was something to the effect of, "We'll see how he feels on December 8th". They moved on and said nothing about it after that in much the same way that Ron dropped Todd's name. I've gotta believe there was something to the reference, or maybe I just read too much into the show.

There are several things developing behind the lines.

Oh, and Dec 8th is when we declared War, I think. And I thought Lennon was the 10th.

not really.

edit: yes I know about it being the anniversary of Lennon's murder and the murder of Dimebag Darrell. Explain the irony to me.

"Irony- An occurrence, result, or circumstance notable for such incongruity." I wish there was no comparison, wish that Dime's name was not put in this context. Same day, same ruined existence for a life and family. The irony is there was no reason, both of mind and cause. It's true that all you need is love, So Love, Love, Love.

Like I said, I know about what happened. It's a tragedy. However, where is the irony in this thread? What's the incongruity? I'm missing something. Someone was looking for the significance of the date to the show, and Dimebag Darrell was killed by a crazed fan on that date. I completely miss the irony.

I'd go with the latter. In the true sense of the word, I fail to see the irony.

Edit: and awful things happening unexpectedly or on otherwise mundane days is not irony.

This has gotten to the point where it's hardly worth discussing anymore, however, I'll bite --

The date:

- In this thread it was listed as the date of significance to the show.

- 24 years after John Lennon was murdered. A tragedy.

- the day Dimebag Darrell was murdered. Also a tragedy.

Not to be callous, but I'm still waiting for my super-sized helping of irony.

Dude I've been trying to end this from the first response, so dont dedicate a post and then act unintersted. Lets agree that you cant see the forest through the trees and let my brain get back to intelligent thought. It's an insult that you have dragged this out so long so, Good Day To You ,Sir.

Let's not. You can't win an argument if you never explain yourself sufficiently. The fact that I didn't think this was pursuing doesn't mean that I concede you're right, it was me recognizing that I was being nitpicky about the definition of irony. However, if you have a rational and reasoned explanation for why this is, in fact, irony, I'm all ears.

The sad thing is, even in a song titled "Ironic", half the examples aren't ironic, just crap luck.

EDIT: Wait, was that what he was saying . . ?

You say you're nitpicking. That is implying you are concerned. Give it up dude, I want to enjoy the show downloads I got and you are killing my buzz. This is the irony, The Walrus dropped the Dime on the Mark across from Nathan's.

uh................yeah!

You're kidding, right? I really would have given this up long ago, but there's a car wreck fascination. Convincing me I'm wrong just because you say that I'm wrong isn't an effective argument. If you weren't so dismissive, I wouldn't care. Explain rationally just once, in English the irony, and I'm done.

A good example would be if Damageplan went into a cover of P.O.D's "I Feel So Alive" when Darrell got it....

Right, and what musician dosent know Lennon was killed that day? Maybe he had a moment of reflection before the show and decided to dedicate the set, that would be ironic.
