View Full Version : Mac OSX Error Code 51-Please Help!!!
Whenever I try to drop something into the thrash, I get the "Error Code 51" response, task could not be completed, blah blah.
I am running OSX 10.2.8, I tried repairing disk permissions in disk utility to no avail, any other ideas? Thanks.

is that something you have to buy/Download? If so, I have nearly no harddrive space left, and since I can't delete things, it is a big problem

Never heard of it.
Try throwing your computer out a window.

i have 3 items on my desktop that when i try to throw out, i get the note "The item ___ is being used by another task right now. (Other tasks include moving, copying, or emptying the Trash.) Try again when the other task is complete."
I have had them there for a year or 2. Anyone have any ideas on how to get rid of them.
thanks

Now I finally understand why so many PC geeks hate Mac.

considering this is the first mac os question thread i can remember, and we average 3 or 4 windows question hreads a week, i'd say that it's a pro-mac commercial.
where's my amiga when i need it?

Dudeman, will it let you put those items in the trash but then not let
you empty the trash? If so, try putting them in the trash and then
holding down the option key when you empty it.
Sorry, FXS, don't know a solution for you.

If it says "in use", try booting in safe mode (http://venueserver.rcc.ryerson.ca/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=27&Itemid=40)
