View Full Version : Taking courses over the Internet
For a short time now Ive been trying to find schools that offer a home inspection course down here in FL. Ive been to all the local colleges and none of them give this course. I found one school, or rather one school that was the cheapest of them all, however they give the course online. Now Ive never done anything like that before, if anything I think Id get a little to distracted.
In addition, how do I get information about the school. I mean they all say the same thing. Highest this that, free job placement ECT. I want someone elses oppinion on it, not just text in fromt of me saying how good they are.

Its suposidly like a 3 or 4 day course which teaches you about home inspection. Home inspectors are the used when a house is ready to close and the buyer requests a "Home inspection" Whats great is all I really need to do is take this course, pass it, get a ocupational liscence, file for a ficticous name ( What that is I have no idea) and hopefully start a succesfully rich career inspecting homes. Maybe building inspector is a better name for the course?

as with becomming a minister you should look into the credentials, you can make a certificate with a computer in no time.

I would hope that the person doing a home inspection before the closing of a house sale would be trained a little bit better than a 3 or 4 day class.
These people are supposed to look for ANY problems with the house... electrical, structual, plumbing, etc etc

EDIT:
Ok I called up this school that offers the course online. They are nationally acredited. The course costs $588. It is NOT 2 to 4 days. More like 60 to 90 days and you have a year to take the final exam. After you pass, you get your certificate and a free one year membership to the Housing Inspection foundation.
Now everything this guy told me on the phone sounded great, its just Im a bit leary of something. What I dont know. I think I asked all that can be asked about the course. Should I do it?

Can they give yu a list of refrences of people who actually took the class? If you follow up with those refrences you will know what you need to.

i doubt they can do that because it is personal information. you could be a stalker or crazy ex looking for a new adress to go and kill that person. i know it sounds hot, but it can get scary
