NHL to resume talks

NHL and the NHLPA will resume talks December 9th in Toronto. (http://www.nhl.com/onthefly/news/2004/12/222214.html)

What does this mean? Probably nothing. But it shows promise that maybe the two sides will really try to get soemthing done. I'm not holding my breath, but it would be awesome if they did.

I'm very optimistic that a deal will be done next week when they meet....I'll just have to wait and see.

I'm feeling pretty hopeless on there being any kind of resolution. It's really a bitch too because the Flyers AHL affiliate the Phantoms has won something like 18 stright and yet they get no television. Kinda sucks.

Be like me and start going to MINOR league hockey. It's way more fun and CHEAP! I need my hockey fix and this is getting way to old.

I'm sick of entertainers and athletes getting more money than anyone should ever need and crying when they want more. I'm becoming very jaded in my old age. :confuse:

I blame Gary Bettman for this. The players were willing tot ake pay cuts. I dunno, maybe it's just because he is a face that I can point at and vent my anger towards. Or maybe it's because I just don't like him.

I miss the NHL. Boston TV doesn't play enough AHL or NCAA hockey. Being somebody who watches EVERY single B's game it feels weird not getting any!

the players are wlling to take small cuts. what is needed here are huge cuts (be realistic, this is hockey, not football or baseball) and a cap.

The whole bunch of them can shoulder some of the blame. Once again you have millionaire players and billionaire owners arguing over money. Meanwhile the fans of the game get screwed. We have been paying the rapidly rising ticket prices for years, and have had to sit through this lockout, and neither side could get it together to have talks about the issues unitl December. Everyone needs to get there heads out of there asses.
