Just curious, me personally, I'm in TKE. Been a brother for almost a month and I'm lovin it.

How many of you college-educated board-members have joined a fraternity or sorority?

During initiation, did you get pinecones shoved up your ass or did you do have to do that on your own?

I pledged Ago (alpha kappa phi) for about 2 months and then depledged. i wanted my life back. i didnt want to have to worry about making sure i dressed the same as my pledge sisters, or whether or not i was able to get 50 signatures in my wooden anchor pledge book, and staying up all hours of the night painting a fucking huge wall, and then get screamed at by a bunch of girls at line up. i missed hanging out with my non-fraternity/sorority friends and wanted my own life back. and surprisingly, most of the sisters were really cool with me once i did depledge...one of the sisters, who was a TA in a psych class hooked me up with an a-.

TKE = Tau Kappa Epsilon

Which, I believe is Greek for "To purchase friends".

And not very good friends at that. Just friends that like you to play with dildos and have man on man spankings.

Frats? No thanks. I made friends for free.

Huntington Hall!!
Room 311 was our main party room. Huntington rocked. We'd get busted with beer balls and my other friend's room was doobie central, yet we never got in trouble.

And once I depledged, you could always find me dancing on the pool table with the rest of the drunks at the Alley

Ah, good times....good times.

I was there last year also. Hasn't changed a bit. I usually make it up there once a year, still have some friends living there. Best class I took there was History of the Beat Generation.

Let's go to the Oak and mess with some townies. I'm buying. I just sold my books back at Damascene.

Sorry for being a Pepe Picky, but I just had to point out that you had to have been in a graternity with grammar like that.

Puhlease...Blodgett Hall is where they had it all. Large spacious suites, private bathrooms, and a wing for all your needs whether it be Beer, Liquor, Pot, Acid or sex. They had it all there.

I also spent a year living in Ford Hall, but that is a whole 'nother discussion.

Most of my friends joined up, but I never did.

I thought about it, thinking I'd "lose" most of my group, but nothing changed. And since I had so many friends IN the frats, I could always hang around the houses and parties without ever paying for anything...suckers.

My brother is in Dubya's frat.

I'm a brother of Delta Sigma Phi, I graduated college last summer.

There's a lot I can say about fraternity life, but honestly I don't have the time. There were some damn cool aspects of being in a fraternity, some things people who were never a part of it will ever understand (no matter how hard they try and want to make fun of it). On the flip side, there were also some very shitty aspects of being in a fraternity. Pledging was probably the worst semester of my college life, the goods hardly ever outweighed the bad. But the bottom line comes down to, do whatever you feel is best for you, march to the beat of your own drum, additional generic phrase.

I enjoyed my years as a fraternity brother and some friendships I made there I will cherish forever.

i was in Delta Phi Epsilon...key word WAS... bunch of bitches..

anywho at my school greek life is not really wlecomed since in the late 70's early 80's my school was one of the top party schools

so around that time 2 frats hated each other and burned one anothers frat houses on campus down- TODAY the townhouses (a form of housing for upper classman) are there

ever since then we only have one social frat/ social sorority and one business coed frat and one textile frat (also coed)

This leads me to believe that either you pledged a really shitty frat, or more likely you never pledged at all. Trust me, fraternity life is not like that at all. Unfortunately, Animal House is not a particularly accurate representation of Greek life.

I went to Cortland, was/am DKB, a nonsponsered frat. Teek's (TKE) were the guys we had to beat up during pledge week. Many teeks have tasted the water o the bong. Cause it gets you higher...lol

i spent my freshman year at NYU, and was suprised by the tons of frats and sororities ...

those groups always seem to lend themselves better to schools in more rural areas ...

never understood why, in the largest city in the world, would you need an organized social life ...

and i could never submit/subject myself to all that initiation nonsense ... i'm not one for jumping through hoops to be accepted ...

but to each their own ...
