i cant seem to find a straight answer to my question anywhere, not even from the labor department. if i move from jersey to milwaukee am i eligible to collect unemployment. secondly if i am eligible to collect does anyone know how much they pay, keeping in mind that i make around 65,000 a year.

Are you out of work because you got laid off, or because you quit?

you can really only collect unemployment if you were fired or laid off, not if you leave out of your own free will.
In NY, the max you can get is like $400 a week.

If you are collecting unemployment, you can collect it across state lines. You worked in Jersey, you are entitled to that money if you are released.
You can talk to your employers about firing you when you are ready to go so that you can collect while you set yourself up in milwaukee.
Disclaimer - I'm not a lawyer and don't know if that last part is legal and you should consult your employer and/or a lawyer about it.
