I'll use this as an excuse to tell you about http://www.lbeh.org; every year they collect money & frequent flier miles to get plane tickets for soldiers so they can come home when they're on holiday leave.

So far this month (they only collect funds one month per year) here's their stats:

Donations received: $44,425.44
Miles donated: 70,000
Number of donors: 832
Amount still needed: $14,577.59

Every penny collected gets sent right back out to get a soldier home. And every penny counts, I donate every year.
