It looks like a reporter from pwinsider is reporting that 6/5/05 at the Hammerstein Ballroom WWE is having an ECW ppv. They dont know if Heyman and Dreamer will have control or not.

This would be a proper way for people to get one last taste of ECW. It would probably be the best buy rate they've ever seen. The only way it would work though is if Dreamer and Heyman booked it and considering Dreamer's big mouth (not in a bad way, he just speaks his mind) and Heyman's problem with management (curse you Stephanie McMahon), WWE would ruin it.

So it will be a pay per view full of people the WWE doesn't push in the first place? I doubt the casual WWE fan would buy that.

If this is real, this is gonna suck. Can you imagine an "ECW" PPV, where guys like Orton, or JBL get an "E-C-Dub" chant. You can't? THATS BECAUSE THEY WONT!

Who the hell, wants to see something like, Triple H vs Jobber #427 for the main event. The only guys that should be on this thing are old ECW guys like Guerrero, Benoit, Jericho, RVD, Mysterio, Richards, Rhyno, Tajiri, The Dudleys, and anyone else I missed. Also, Heyman should book the whole damn thing since we know the fed know NOTHING about that.

If it's an ECW PPV, it'll be ECW guys. No HHH. No Orton. I guarantee you this will be one-time shot to see if it's worth creating a third brand.

That being said, I'm not so sure I like the idea of doing it in NYC instead of Philly, but Beggars can't be choosers.

I think that the ECW PPV would only feature guys who were in ECW. Guys like Rhyno, Tajiri, the Dudley's, Jericho, Mysterio, Tazz (who would most likely commentate with Dreamer, perhaps do a run in), Al Snow, Steven Richards, Benoit, Guerrero, and Lance Storm.

Perhaps they could get Justin Credible to do a one time deal with the PPV. They wouldn't be able to get Lynn or Raven because they're contracted with TNA.

The only way it would work is if they let Heyman and Dreamer do the creative aspect while WWE just gives them the money.

BUT of course we all know this is probably not going to happen AT ALL.

what matches would y'all like to see that they can realistically pull off?

I'd like a Rey+RVD v. Jericho/Lance Storm hardcore ECW style

But he's still with the company. If they're going to do an ECW PPV then they're gonna need all the former ECW guys they have.

I thought he got that match when he last wrestled Heat against Matt Hardy in a PPV caliber bout. Too bad they couldn't have let a Storm/Jericho match happen. That would've been crazy.

Would Rhyno defend his ECW Heavyweight title?
Justin and Sandman would be nice additions.

Stevie gave him a good last match, but WWE didn't give them the time to go great

I'm sure this will by a hybrid of old and new ECW, but it'll be hard for me to swallow without Raven or Shane Douglas. The Flock and the Triple Threat are the two most underrated stables in wrestling history.
