On the TNA web site, they said Abyss is no longer with the company.

Word is that he went into negotiations for his new contract saying that he had an offer from the WWE. He asked TNA to agree to pay him twice his regular fee in order to stay.

TNA actually AGREED to do so.

Even though they gave him what he wanted, apparently that wasn't good enough, as he said that he'd "have to talk with the WWE first".

So TNA politely said, "Fuck you, there's the door."

Kind of sorry to see him go, but if he's going to be a dick about it, when TNA agreed to give him what he wanted, then I'm not going to cry over him leaving.

Abyss had a great match at Cyberspace Wrestling Federation in Wayne against Mana. It was a sick Street Fight. I have the chair that Abyss broke over the head of Mana...three times.

We all chanted, "FUCK TNA!" for him.

TNA, for once, was completely in the right, and it was Abyss who was the asshole.

Why shouldn't Abyss get more money?? He is a much bigger star then 2 years ago when he signed his contract. Abyss has a t-shirt and figure and is in the main talent bracket. You have to treat your home grown stars well or they will pull a Nash.

It's not that he doesn't deserve more money, he asked for a raise, TNA matched what he wanted and then he tells them I'm going to see what WWE will give me.

He handled it unprofessionally, which isn't too good of an idea in todays wrestling business.

If he doesn't cut it in the WWE, he could have closed the door on ever returning to TNA.


I'm just curious as to how the WWE will repackage him. You know they're not going to use the secnd-rate "Mankind" gimmick.

Some notes coming out of the show last night. Abyss and TNA agreed to a new deal on Tuesday. Virtually nobody knew he was there or would be appearing. In fact, there were several complaints expressed to us by wrestlers that the company lost a lot of credibility with the wrestlers because of things said at a meeting before the show, particularly those who remember working in the WCW environment.

He did leave them, otherwise he would have been on the Impact tapings 2 weeks ago and fought Jeff Hardy on the ppv. He left TNA, saw that the WWE wasn't going to give him anything better and went back.
