Whats with all the PSA's?

Most stations play PSA's (Public Service Announcements) late, late at night. Lately I've noticed every other commercial is a PSA. Are they having trouble selling time? Do the local pols in DC insist on it because of the show's sexual content? And could you run a different PSA besides the two AIDS ones? Aren't there any other problems in this country?

i haven't noticed any increase of PSA in NY. I guess it's just the aids ridden capital. :)

WJFK PSA's are generally of the :10 or :15 variety and they don't air as frequently as those AIDS commercials. My guess is that the AIDS ads are paid ads (either full price or reduced fee) rather than real PSAs.

What's your favorite (Or least favorite) PSA?

I loved the old TV cartoon ones "I hanker for a hunk a cheese" and "Conjunction junction whats your function?"

I hated the drug ones. All of them.

There's a new Drunk Driving one thats pretty effective
"Ed's at the bar. A family is driving home after a long day shopping. There's a lonely stop sign at the crossroads . . . ."
