The date was awesome. We get along so well, into all the same stuff. Dinner was great. Conversation never died off. Joked around the whole time, laughed, had fun.

Went out afterwards, we hanging out at a table drinking and having a good time.

Then she drops it..

"Well, my friend told me to always be wary of guys, he said all they ever want is sex and relationships. But I told him he didn't have to worry because all you want is to just be friends." Then "I told him that sometimes people transcend <her actual word> physical and sexual attractions and just like to hang out because they have similar interests"


Then she proceeded to say how she just likes hanging out with guys and how its great to have guy friends who don't want anything more then to just go out to dinner and have a good time.

Ouch. I was sitting there trying to figure out what went wrong. We had gone out before and I called her up asking if she wanted to go out to dinner. She said it would be fun and I figured it was going to be a second date thing. Seems like she never figured out it was a date.. we just happened to be going out on a Friday night as buddies to just get dinner and talk.

Totally bummed right now. It went from meeting the perfect girl who has everything in common with me to getting her out on a second date to having an awesome dinner.. to fucking sitting in a cubicle in fucking Summit, NJ typing this as my friend sits a cubicle over pissed off that his manager gave him so much work he is still at work at 11:30 on a Friday night.

Well you know what? I'd rather be him then me right now.

Jezo. Do what I did last time this happened to me. Next time you talk to her, lead the conversation to weekend plans. Then when she asks what your plans are, tell you have a hot date.
