This was a man who meant it. It's not like those pussies who go up to a ledge and stand there "debating" it. I had a friend who used to work at the All Star Cafe at the Trump Taj Mahal, one night he went out to the highest level of a parking garage and sat on the ledge. There was a full police response. They took him in for mental evaluation. And then the next time I saw him, he was showing me all of the news clippings and tv reports about him. He was just attention starved. At least I have to commend the Palisades center guy for being committed to his goal.

I worked in Hackensack right off Rt 4 in the office buildings where Friday's is. Was outside having a smoke, when I heard a bit of a thud. Looked to the left and a guy was laying there in jeans and a tee with his left foot touching the back of his head. Went over to check on him and he was completley blue.

Turns out, he imploded from the 10 story jump, saving us the nasty mess of his blood. He had been served divorce papers from his wife.

i work at Barnie's Coffee in that mall and i just found out that i went to high school with the jumper...and yes there are higher places in the mall...why would u risk injury (which he did btw, wasn't pronounced dead until he made it to westchester medical...yikes!)

A suicidal New Jersey man set a new standard for self-inflicted brutality when he decapitated himself by driving away from a light post with a rope tied around his neck.

Wolfgang Persieck, 50, of Union Beach, died when the rope, which he had attached to the post, jerked his head off as he stepped on the gas Saturday night.

Now, THAT is sheer determination.
