Dropping out

I was just wondering what the New York State laws are regarding dropping out of high school. Ive heard that you could drop out at 16 under certain circumstances but everyone has their own take on it. So, yeah, just wondering if anyone here knew.

You'd have to have a parent or legal guardian go to the school and sign you out premanently.
