4 Bent Rims, how is that possible?

i had my car towed into nissan the other day cause it was rolling like shit, wobbling and everything. they call me back this morning and tell me its a bent rim, which is not covered by warranty.

turns out, its ALL 4 rims, and the tires are bad. $2200

i cant afford that shit, and on top of that, how the fuck do you bend 4 rims without getting into an accident? doesnt at once mean that it just had to be from shitty rims, and that shouldnt be my fault?

and incase i get fucked, anyone know a place that has nice rims for cheap

for some reason I never trust a dealer and their shops. tell them you don't have the money, have them put the tires back on and try somewhere else. Do you know any good privately owned stations/mechanic shops?

Before you pay that shit, get the car back and take it somewhere else. if they are really all bent, get some aftermarket rims, non chrome, that fit the tires your currently have. it will be at least 1/2 the price

Did you ask to see the rims and said dents?

If you don't remember hitting a crazy ass pothole or something I'd have it checked somewhere else.

If you do need rims check your local junkyard for cheap rims. You may even be able to get decent used tires there as well.

What year and model nissan do you have? And what type of rims do you have now, stock?

if it was a one time event, he would have had to pop a curb to bend all 4 at once. no pothole is going to do that.

But if it was over time, and he speeds a lot, it def. could have been a few major potholes.

especially if you have low profile/sport tires.

i hit potholes all the time, i just figured they wouldnt bend all 4 rims. i just talked to the servicemanager, and he said they look all different. one was done this time, one at a different time and so on, and that nissan overprices rims.

he told me find ones online or something and bring them in, they will put them on for me.

they also said the vibration from the bent rims is what blew the bearings out

not only does it have lo pros, but i put even lower ones on, and i speed all the time, and hit potholes alot. i guess its not so crazy, its just a shock of waking up to hear $2200 on your voicemail

Check you alignment & balancing. Those things can contribute to uneven wear on the tires and maybe the rims too...

its a 2002 Nissan Sentra SE-R, and the rims that were on it are from nissan, but not the stock ones, from their performance shop. the guy who runs it even said they are overpriced, i only had them cause they gave them free when i bought the car. now i see why

the problem is its like 200-250 just to ship rims, so they would have to pay that plus their bid
actually shippin, assuming 4 35 lb packages, ground is around 90 and air is around 200

I never liked the idea of only an inch or two of air between my rim and the street. Seems like a bad idea doesnt it? The rubber deforms from an impact and your rim gets bent. I would advise you to get the stock rims and tires and stay away from that low-profile look and use the car as intended. It will save you $$ and might even save your life. I know they look cool, but they arent functional. Just my humble O.

the stock rims are ugly, the rims i have are basically an option on the car, and they dented, and are 2200 to replace. the new ones were 930 + tax for EVERYTHING
