New Jersey'ans have sure been through a rough couple of months. First they find out that their governor was leaving his wife of many years for the arms of another man. Then he is replaced by a absolute mad man in Dick Codey so decided to take on radio host Craig Carton and threaten him before his "Ask the Governor" radio program.


Acting Gov. Richard J. Codey said Wednesday he threatened to take a radio show host outside after the shock jock made dismissive comments about postpartum depression, an ailment that has afflicted first lady Mary Jo Codey.

"Somebody made disparaging remarks about my wife. I defended my wife like any man or husband would," Codey told a throng of reporters at the Statehouse just after addressing a group of mayors. "I have a right to defend my family, and I will."

Codey suggested the station should take action against the host, Craig Carton, for comments made earlier in the week. He said he did not expect an apology would come from Carton.

On the air Wednesday, the radio host refused to apologize and demanded an apology from Codey. He called the acting governor "an out-of-control, arrogant man."



Codey said he was upset about remarks Carton made during his Monday afternoon "Jersey Guys" show. Codey said he personally did not hear the comments, but members of his staff in his West Orange legislative office heard them and wrote them down.

A lot of what you'll read has been taken massively out of context. Surprise, surprise.

How does being a butthole shock jock not mean trying to be funny? The whole point of being a shock jock is TRYING to be funny. But if you've ever listened to the show, you'd realize that the program is as far from normal "shock" radio as possible.

The jocks on that station make me laugh, and not for the right reason. I think I gave up on them when Dennis Malloy, who does nothing but bitch and whine and cry day after day about state government, comes on the air and calls voting, "overrated"
