Im thinking of buying a thumb drive. Any suggestions? Brands, capacity, price, etc?
If there is a good deal going on right now and you know about it, let me know! Thanks!

I have one from PNY which is a 128mb drive, and the other is a Sony MicroVault 256mb. The 256mb model is definitely for me the best, it has plenty of room for most file transfers.

I've thought about getting a 512mb drive or even a gig drive, though for now the 256 is doing fine.

I would go for 512MB. You can get one online now for around 80 dollars.

PNY is a good brand, and so is Sony.

Also some PNY ones have this extension cable if you do not have front USB ports so you do not have to reach behind the computer all the time.

Also check to make sure you have USB 2.0 and not 1.1. The difference in transfer speeds is amazing. You can get a PCI addon card if you want to upgrade to USB 2.0 for 40 dollars.

Staples (http://www.staples.com/products/SpotLights/050123/520695/Default.asp) has one on sale today, a 256mb 2.0 for $24! I bought 2 of em! I looked on eBay and they didnt have anything close in price AND they wanted to charge $9 for shipping! They have the 512 mb for $39 on sale at Staples today, but I figure for what I need, the 256 will be fine.

Ill keep one drive at work and the other at home. The reason I wanted it is because my work computer got corrupted and their brilliant IT people said it was "fried" and they wouldnt even attempt to get my valuable files that I was keeping on my desktop and in a "stuff" folder.

They want people to store everything on the network and I just dont want to either put up with the hassle or want their prying eyes on my stuff, so I figure this is my best solution; Ill just make a back up!

I have the 256mb Sony and use it on a daily basis to back up Quicken and Quickbooks that I use to run my office.

My only wish is that they had different colors, because I switch up the backups and being a moron I tend to backup on the same drive although the time.

I bought a Cruzer Titanium USB Thumdrive (http://reviews.cnet.com/SanDisk_Cruzer_Titanium_-_USB_flash_drive_-_512_MB/4505-3233_7-30795193.html?tag=txt) a few months ago and its been stellar. 512 megs, 50 bucks online.

Its the best USB thumb drive without question.
