i've come to the realization that very few places card you. so my question is this- what's the best year. so far i've tried rolling rock, coors gold Lager, and sam adams and I think that Adams is the best, followed by Lager.

But now I ask- what's the best beer?

How right you are, I used to love the Snapple Tru Root Beer lol...Birch Beer is good too, tho...

As for real beer, I'm actually most likely to be drinking a Budweiser at a bar, simply because it is one of the most consistant tasting beers around-if it's cold, it's good...

Best beer overall? Sam Adams Cherry Wheat....mmmmmmmmmmm :)

ale is nice and sweet too.

How about lighter? Try a
hefeweissen. Depending on
whether you want one that
tastes a little fruity or not
(they should be a little
fruity, but sometimes the ones
that taste like banana ans
tuff gross me out) most brands
are decent. Of course with a
lime!

And speaking of fruity? Magic

Whoa, whoa, whoa... I'm a German girl, and extremely proud of my heritage. My grandfather used to brew his own beer. It CAN be very very good. However, when you get into this watered-down, mass-produced, MGD-style crap, you're right... that does taste like crap, and I can't think anybody would drink it for the taste. You really need to find a good import or a great microbrewery to find some of the gems that are out there. They are few and far between.

Two of my favorites are Spaten, particularly their Octoberfest, and Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout.

And yes, I drink those for the taste.

Beer for taste? Absolutely!
There are some yummy brews out there for sure, and if you think I'm lying I will personally treat you to a night of tasting at a good beer bar like David Copperfield's.

Someone mentioned Magic Hat #9, and that's probably my favorite right now.

Saranac is a great brewery for across the board quality.
Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is always good and is thankfully becoming easier to find.
Yuengling Porter, Casco Bay Riptide, and Victory HopDevil are all great drinks.

and PBR? Yuck. $1.99 a sixpack in Fla.

I'm a huge beer drinker, but from the posts I've just read I feel a bit deprived. I've never heard of this Yeung Ling or Magic Hat #9 stuff. I should really check them out. At a bar, I'm sorry to say I have to drink Coor's Light cause it's pretty much the only thing they have that doesn't taste like cat piss. As far as just hanging out with a 40, it has and always will be Olde English all the way. Nothing makes you gimpy like malt liquor.

I think my major problem is that I'm too set in my ways. I've been drinking the same old shit for years. I've never seen Magic Hat in my neighborhood, then again, it might be sitting right next to my 40 of Olde E, but I never bothered to look over. TooCute, you've inspired me. This Friday shall be devoted to trying new drinks...I'm open to any suggestions. Last time I drank nothing but beer (excluding a Mind Eraser Alan bought me... I'm glad I didn't have as many as he did), so I think this time I'll go all out. I could still see relatively straight when I got home, which was a disappointment. I have one simple rule: I'd rather not wake up on a bench with a sack dangling over my face.
