I used to work in Newark/Essex County and did alot of field work. The area where the Arena is going to be isn't as bad as some of the other areas of Newark are. I wouldn't mind taking a train to Newark to watch a hockey game. But I agree with the traffic situation, I wonder how they'll pull that off.


Dude Newark is AWESOME!!!! There's a Popeyes closer. It's 2 blocks from City Hall and the Onyx club on Mulberry Street. But parking is tough.

From what I remember maybe 2-3 blocks. Depends where on the section of land they place the arena at. But there's a walkway/course where you don't have go outside and the walk to the arena would be a block away.

Construction is scheduled to begin in late summer or early fall on the site just west of the city's central train station.

Sounds like a hop, skip and a jumping away.

That's totally walkable. Not a bad area...

You can walk all the way to the Gateway building without going outside (there's concourse that leads there) and it would be 1 block from there.

and for ED...Popeye's would be 2 blocks to the left on Mulberry St.

Yeah I forgot about that mini-Popeyes over there. If I'm over there I usually go to Pequeno Mexico on Ferry for Tacos. They're authentic tacos and even the radishes taste good in those fuckers. Oh yeah ....and uno Orchata por favor. That orchata shit is bangin!!!!!!

I used to walk past Pequeno Mexico all the time when I took the train to work (our office was on Oliver St.). I always wanted to stop in and check it out but never did.

There's a good BBQ place on Pulaski St. called Pulaski BBQ (duh!). You can get a whole tray of Rice, Fries and whole chicken for $8.00 or instead of chicken you can get Ribs instead for $10.

ticket prices i can understand, they're wayyy overpriced. 90 bucks for a ticket is insane, my family used to have season tickets for the devils and we stopped getting them after they won the cup in 95 because it was literally too much money. I have no issue with the financial aspect, but stop acting like the arena is located in the middle of compton on the corner of blood ave. and crip st.

All I know, if it's in Newark....no more paying for parking or waiting to get out of the stupid parking lot. It's much more easier for me to get to and from my house since the PATH is only a block away.

Hopefully Mayor Sharpe James doesn't pocket the money or the deal goes the way the Reinanscance Mall (which is located on the top left corner of the map--halfway built but never completed).


If you need money to watch a game, there's a pawn shop across on Broad street near the church.
