Congrats to my board friends and fellow Red Sox fans Fallon and Game. Enjoy this Dynasty! I have nothing but the utmost respect for the Pats and what they are able to do on a football field.
As far as the Birds go, truly dissaponting game by Donovan and the Defense. We blitzed and the Pats just read it and read it and read it. Donovan just couldn't seem to get it together. It's painful and I'm upset not so much that they lost but the fact that it seems that no one on the team showed up except for Terrell Owens. An amazing feat and it never looked like he was injured. The clock management was terrible. I am just baffled how in the Super Bowl, you can't manage the clock.
Again, a heartfelt congrats to the Pats and their fans.

QUIETEST.
SUPERBOWL.
VICTORY.
EVER.
It really is pathetic how little this city cares.
There's more cops on the street than fans.
Philadelphia is a hungry town that would've really been enjoying this right now. I genuinely feel bad for them, cuz they would've actually appreciated winning a title.
No one here gives a shit.

Are you fucking crazy? Last year some dude got mowed down by a SUV during the Pats celebration and a cop killed a woman when the Sox won. Not to mention colleges don't want to get in trouble anymore and people have to work tommorow so they can take off Tuesday.
People are celebrating in doors. I just got back from a superbowl party.

I was here last year. It was crazy. I had a blast. Everyone went to Government Center and celebrated. We ran through the streets in huge crowds, giving out high fives to strangers... I SAW BOOBIES.
This year is the complete opposite.
And I have a theory that it's entirely to blame on the Sox winning the World Series. Once that nuclear bomb dropped on this city, no other sporting event could possibly trump it. Now that the decades of baseball frustration and tension have been broken, there's no more need for football celebrations.

I too enjoyed the halftime show, but I wasnt too much into the Earth, WInd and Fire with the Black Eyed Peas thing..."Everybody have a happy football!"...

I got an idea, an idea so smart my head would explode if I even began to know what I was talking about.

I didn't think that ya had to be old to like Paul McCartney. I loved his performance!!! Some of you young whippersnappers should learn your music history. He is Rock&Roll's greatest living icon!!!! There's not many left anymore...
What about Peter Frampton? Sir Paul could have picked a slightly better lineup. As much as I love the Beatles, I don't like Baby, You Can Drive My Car, or Get Back. As a matter of fact, along with Paperback Writer, those are up there with the songs that I can't stand from them. And what the hell is the point of doing Hey Jude if you're going to cut it short?

I have never cared for the song "Live and Let Die", but it was a good performance.
The light show was trippy, like a big budget Hayden Planetarium production.

Not to mention that we've come to expect a little something extra out of a Super Bowl halftime show. You can't tell me that there isn't another act on the face of the Earth that was deemed "safe" enough to have performed last night.
McCartney was great (although I was a little upset to not hear "Maybe I'm Amazed" after hearing it teased ALL DAY), but if I want to hear him rip through through 5 whitebread rock songs, I'll buy a ticket to one of his shows.
Was there no one who could have joined him to do a medley or something that could have made the performance a little more special? Shit, he could have had his wife come out & sit silent & expressionaless next to him at the piano while he did "Imagine" as an homage to his old buddy who's been dead for 20 years. SOMETHING, ANYTHING to put a little excitement into the performance beyond the obligatory pyro synchronized to the bass drumbeats during "Live & Let Die."

"Silent & expressionless"? Nah, you wouldn't want her to be as wooden as her leg. :)

What do you guys think Of Around The Horn and PTI saying that The Pats are very Hypacritical. Saying that they pose themselves as this classy no nonsense team. But they stooped to T.O's level beacuse they kept on showing up T.O and the Eagles.Who Btw dropped 122yds on them. By doing the T.O wing flap thing over and over. They said it was ok when Givens did it. But it got old and stupid when everyone else did it.

Around The Horn put me to sleep today around 5:15pm and I slept till 6 so I missed pretty much both shows. As far as the Pats showing up the Eagles, who cares?! The Eagles, T.O. and the city of Philly deserve to be humbled a million times over. My only regret is the Pats didn't put up 50 points so they could have done the flap another 4 times.

Good Point Game. Philly is just AWFUL. And deserves all their teams to have to move to another city.

I take that a little personal with myself being from the Philadelphia area. Should I just remove myself from the board now as to not subject myself to anymore abuse? Just ask and I'm gone.
So were passionate about our sports teams and starve for a Championship. The only one on the Eagles I just want to take out and assassinate right now is Freddie mitchell. No one else shot their mouth off during the week.

Fluff im sure your a good person. From reading Your posts, You seem to be cool. But face it man. There is a line between passion and nasty and crude and despicable. Some of the horror stories that are told by non Philly fans that go to Philly Sporting events are tragic. Sawx and Yank Fans HATE eachother during the game. But a lot of us are pretty good friends away from the field. That's because we know the diff between game and life. You go down to Philly Wearing a non Philly Jersey and you are in trouble. And God forbid you wear a Giant Redskin cowboy Ranger Jersey. Sid and Joe Host a mid day show on WFAN. They took calls on experiences at Philly. It took 2 days to take every caller that called in with just horror stories. From not only NY fans but all other fans. Are there bad fans every place? Sure. But Philly fans are just insane.

Maybe this can get moved over to a fan abuse thread so as to not to derail the Super Bowl thread.
I hear Sid and Joe down here as well and honestly, love them. I'll be the first one to admiot, there are some horrible fans down here who do paint the whole fanbase as bad. Yes, it is embarrassing to the *0% of us who are sane and are respectful and passionate about our teams to be bad people. Sure there is the whole "throwing snowballs at Santa" thing and the D Cell batteries at JD Drew. We're not saints. All we kept saying last week was that "We sure hope IF we do win things don't get out of control as to paint us in a bad light AGAIN."
Sometimes the passion just overruns things. Hell, we don't have a problem with the Giant fans and Dallas fans from their respective fan areas. They are your home teams and you are entitled. The thing that really stirs the pot though is the Cowboy scum from OUR area who just got on the bandwagon and followed the star back in the 70s cause they were America's Team. Hell, if that is the symbol of America, ship me out now. The Patriot's? Now THAT is America's Team to me. Just class all around and confidence yes, but not arrogant ignorant egotistical swagger.
I'm gonna bow out now cause my fucking hands are killing me from the game last night. You can only punch shit so much before you really start to bleed all over the place.

It still will be the highest rated show all year. Plus that shit doesn't count parties. The SuperBowl is the biggest event of the year.

And the guys on NESN are arguing Rodney Harrison for MVP. So Snoogs and I aren't crazy.

I don't get ESPNews (don't use a cable box, it's cheaper), so I'm only getting the parade on CN8, WBZ, WCVB, NECN, WHDH, WFXT, NESN and FSN. ;)
Harrison could have won, so could Brady. But Branch did tie the record for SuperBowl receptions, so I have no problem with it.

alright Fluff, you know i like ya, but you are forgetting the one thing that basically labelled every eagles fan a dick head:
YOU GUYS CHEERED WHILE MICHAEL IRVIN WAS PARALYZED ON THE FIELD
i dont give a damn if you wanna hit santa with snowballs, throw a hot dog covered in relish at me cause i wore a Giants jersey (true story, among alot of other things that were thrown at me), i dont care about that. but show me a Giants fan who will cheer while an opposing player cant even move his legs, and i'll show you an eagles fan who is pretending to be a giants fan to help the arguement.
that one incident is where i lost respect for the Eagle fans. Not the time i got hit with a hardcover copy of Jurassic Park because i had on a Kerry Collins jersey

Then why are playoff ratings going up for Baseball? If its all because of cable?
Plus, you conveniently skipped the 7% drop in the key demo 18-49. Which was the whole point of the article.
"The annual game is far and away the season's No. 1-rated telecast, although in adults 18-49 and other demo categories, this year's preliminary results stand as the lowest in at least 13 years.Relatively modest tune-in is somewhat of a surprise given the competitive nature of the game and the first appearance in 24 years for the Eagles, who have a solid national following."
