To those that follow Japanese wrestling

Watching 1/2 of RAW last night from Japan got me thinking. Do the Japanese fans really care about this watered down version of the sport, considering from what I've heard theirs is much more realistic and brutal?

Seeing the WWE for the Japanese, I think, is like when the circus comes to town. It's big shiny and cheesy. No one really goes to it for content. Add to that, quite a few wrestlers on Raw that have a serious history in Japan. Benoit, Flair, Jericho, Regal, and Tajiri, have all have made their mark on Japan. So many fans came to see old faces that they haven't seen in a while. Also the Fed makes it a point to get all it's shit translated into other languages so that the world has easy access. No other wrestling organization has the wherewithal or the financial resources to pull that off. Not only that but the WWE can make you want it. They don't ever promise a satisfying payoff but they know how to make you want it badly.
