I only get them a few times a year (I am lucky), but when I get them, they knock me off my ass.
I got one yesterday. (Thank God for Imitrex). Usually mine are triggered by smell. I'm Russian Orthodox and the smell of the awful incense would kill me as a kid. I can remember one migraine I had was triggered by some guy burning some of the same awful incense on Broadway.
I like incense, but not THAT stuff.
The auras. The nausea. The pain.
OH THE PAIN!

I lived with a girl in college who would get them all the time. She used to have to take an injection when she'd get one and sometimes even the shot didn't help. They were so debilitating it was scary to see her when she had one.

They are debilitating. I am whoozy the next day.
I'm pretty lucky-- I've heard horror stories from people.

i get them mostly from having a few glasses or more than a few glasses of red wine before bed and forget to drink some water or take a couple aspirin
i had opened a thread of how the migraine actually makes me feel nauseaus
horrible feeling... tylenol doesn't really help, just time

Imitrex only helps if you take it the minute you feel symptoms.
I also had a few prescription Tylenol (600 mg). It definitely helped.

No doubt these do suck immensely.
For me, the nausea is the worst part.... I usually can't eat anything or a day or so.
Wouldn't be such a bad diet if it didn't make me so damn miserable!
I am going back to the neurologist soon since my triggers have become near impossible to pinpoint.... ugh cubed.

My bandmate Bob gets them. He got one during practice one day and had to go and lie down in a dark room for hours.
Also, my friend Bill gets them, and he has to take that night off from work if he happend to get them, as he swallows over the counter migraine medecine like Pez.
So I hear they really suck ass.

Maybe you're allergic to the Holy Spirit.
My dog likes Cheese Doodles. And YooHoo. Not to be a pain, but you know chocolate is bad for the lil guys, right?

If you think there's any actual Chocolate in YooHoo, I think you're sadly mistaken. That shit is a fucking abomination.

I've only had a migraine once. I'm lucky I guess in comparrison.
I'd actually read a lot about them because my mom was thought to suffer from them although it turned out to be something else, and I had a roommate and a former girlfriend that got them almost regularly.
It's difficult to see people that you care about in pain but I had my first (and hopefully my only) last month that knock me on my ass. I had all the classic symptoms, seeing stars, very sensitive to light, nausea, and feeling hungover the next day.
