View Full Version : Screwed after I put in my Bid

I have been wanting this teapot for a while, and I saw one on eBay and I bid on it because of the description as being "Mint!" and listing all of its qualities and images of it (see below)
http://i8.ebayimg.com/01/i/03/84/33/6d_1_b.JPG
So, I place my bid in the morning and I come back and I won the item, and went to go pay and Im viewing it again and see that now there is a revised note in big red letters in the description..
PLEASE NOTE...THERE WAS A MISTAKE IN THE LISTING TITLE...THIS POT IS NOT IN MINT CONDITION AS IT DOES HAVE A DULL INTERIOR BOTTOM FROM CLEANING....SORRY FOR THE MISTAKE....
But of course, its too late, I won the fucking thing AND they have a high shipping charge tha was actually a few dollars more than the cost of the item!
Im fucking pissed!
They should have a way of backing out of an auction if the seller changes the description after a bid is place, dont you agree?
That'll teach me to buy a faggy glass teapot on eBay!

I. You are so gay for wanting a Tea Pot.
II. If the "correction" was made after the sale, E-Bay will back you up 100 percent.
III. even if the "correction was made during the auction, they are really good at backing up the buyer. Call a CSR "MANAGER!"
IV. You are gay!

You are not bound to that deal if the item was misrepresented, or a disclaimer was placed "ex post facto." go here & explain the circumstances:

Too bad I saw that after I hit the "pay now!" button.
What can I do? I have a couple of big coffee pots from Corning and they are amazing, and wanted the teapot because the others I got were also mint and I got them in garage sales and stuff. Its pretty amazing material and I know it seems a little gay for a guy to collect them, but I have this thing for quality items that are well made and functional and beautiful at the same time. Im just pissed that eBay didnt automatically give me the option to back out as a curtesy because the seller changed the description. I was the only bidder. Its no biggie, but I actually paid less for the really mint ones I have that I got in garage sales!

Does it come shipped to you packed in a box full of loofahs?
Like everyone said, eBay will back you up. A year ago I bid for a CD box set that ended up being about $80, and within hours of winning the seller sent me an e-mail telling me one of the CD's was actually "kind of scratched up" after offering the set on site as being "near mint." I contacted eBay and they "cleared" me of any seller obligations.
Plus, they probably have some pull with PayPal in these matters.
And 8 PM PST is 5 PM EST (NYC) time.

I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic, but just in case anyone didn't know, Ebay owns PayPal.

Big Thanx to Fallon.
Jimmy Fallon kissing Drew Barrymore -- on the field, on live TV -- right after the Red Sox won their first World Series in 86 years. In fact, they were shown in a closeup within 60 seconds of the final out. And every Red Sox fan is determined to pretend that this never happened, and that it didn't taint the moment even a little bit ... so it wasn't a huge deal.</center>

Dude, you're talking about a cheap-ass teapot my mom mighta had in the seventies. That's almost gayer than those see-through slippers with the flowers you bought because they were "comfortable." You know what else, you might be comfortable in? A crotchless ballerina outfit.

Maybe it's me being non-metro/homosexual, but what's wrong with heating up your water for tea in one of these

too much heat escapes... unless you use a cover
you'll use extra gas or electricity or coal

Good point, I get so distracted while I'm churning butter, or making a blanket on the loom that I would waste a lot of coal.
