I'm in the middle of a HUGE negative and slide scanning project. I've been using canned air to blow dust off them and it's getting to be extremely expensive. Does anyone have any alternative suggestions? I looked into small air compressors (like photo labs use), and they can be pretty expensive. Any help would be appreciated.

I can get cases of canned air from my company.

I don't know what canned air goes for.

I've been buying 10 oz. cans for 4 bucks. So far, I've gone through 4 cans in less than a week. OUCH!!!

The cases I get have either 12 or 16 cans each.

I'd have to check to make sure.

20$ a case sounds fair...

Six scans at a time at 42mb each, and a bottle of rum. Life is good.

I've been scanning slides for some time know and the air from my lungs seems to remove the dust fine. (your may be dustier) And if you do enough slides in a batch you get a bonus head rush.

Seriously though why not look for something like this...
