He was an awesome person. I just want to share his awesomeness.

My mom died in 1977, leaving him a widow. He had to deal with me-- a pre-pubescent Fuzzybutt. He handled my growing up with much love and support, no matter how much of a bitch I was!

When I got a shitty 2.2 my first semester in college, he said, "It's not what you get in college, it's what you learn. Right now you're learning to live with three other women. It's not easy." I got better grades every semester after.

He was a funny person. I loved going grocery shopping with him. He'd do a jig as he pushed the cart down the aisle. And he'd point out the varicose veins on all the snooty tennis moms.

He was an awesome neighbor. He always made sure the older lady next door had a hot meal. And he was the neighborhood handyman for free.

I always spoke so fondly of him. My friends in HS and college fell in love with him from a far.

He rocked! I miss him a whole bunch.

Big Thanx to Fallon.

Jimmy Fallon kissing Drew Barrymore -- on the field, on live TV -- right after the Red Sox won their first World Series in 86 years. In fact, they were shown in a closeup within 60 seconds of the final out. And every Red Sox fan is determined to pretend that this never happened, and that it didn't taint the moment even a little bit ... so it wasn't a huge deal.</center>

It's nice to remember the goodtimes. of course it hurts a bit because you miss them so much but you wouldn't trade the time you spent together for all the money in the world.

You were lucky to have each other!

I'm sorry Petrina. Take refuge in the fact that he led a good life, and raised an awesome daughter.

And that's how you should spend today thinking about him -- not feeling sad, but remembering the good things about him and the good times with him.

But naturally you'll feel a little sad so I hope you'll be OK.

Mark Twain had a standard for a successful life -
Live it so that when you die even the undertaker is sorry.

It sounds like your Dad cleared that high jump with plenty of room to spare. Thanks for sharing your memories of him.

He sounded like an incredible role model and wise person. You were blessed to have not only known him but love and be loved by him.

I know this sounds cheezy and it is said alot in movies, tv. ect. but I find it to be a very true-ism.

"They never truely die as long as you always remember them with love"

Best thing you can do for your dad is carry on his legacy of being a great human and humanitarian.

So far...so good! Keep it up Fuzzy! :)

"Did you catch all of that in your mouth??"
"You betcha!!!!!"

"Shut up and keep sucking!"

Im sorry for your loss hun, but at least you have those fond memories to fall back on. And as others have said, he would be proud to know that he raised a wonderful daughter. I know that I am proud to call you a friend.

I think a wise person summed it up like this "There is no greater joy nor greater reward than to make a fundamental difference in someone's life. ".

He was also a Marine. Sargeant. Purple Heart.

Go figure! He was nothing but sweet and loving to me.

But he threatened to break my boyfriend's legs. If I had one...

Glad to see you remember him so fondly. Though I'm sure its bittersweet.

He sounds like someone who "got it". Who knew what's important in life and served his Country and his family well. And never lost his sense of humor!

Some people live 80 years and never get it right. Think of your time together as more than alot of people get in a lifetime.

And DJ, If you lay a hand on her I will PERSONALLY rearrange your poop smelling FACE! CAPISCE?!!
