Help, I fucked up my XP

I was tinkering around with my computer last night and went to System Settings, I unclicked something that had to do with my memory and now my PC won't load past the welcome screen because of low memory.

After the welcome screen I just get a blank black desktop and I can run task manager. Can anyone help me out, maybe figure a way to run windows restore or fix my memory from there?

Restart your PC and as it begins to restart press the F8 key go to the promt and load XP under Safe mode. Hopefully this will let you load the basic desktop and you can go back and reverse what you did.

shut down the comp. Turn it back on. Immediately afterwords, hold the space bar and press F10 repeatedly until u see a bar at the bottom of teh screen saying "loading system restore". I do it for my compa nd it works. i have an HP. even if u dun have HP, give it a try

I fixed it on safe mode. I always forget about that. Thanks guys!
