Ive got a situation at my job. Ive got this new employee who has been buying stuff with her discount quite frequently. Not that there is anything wrong with that and she is past her 30 day probation period, but for starters, they are only part time sales. Ive been with the company for over a year and in my new position for about 3 months as Lost Prevention. One of the things that is forbidden at work is miss-use of the employee discount. In the past year now Ive seen at least 7 people get fired including one supervisor. Now the person buying all this stuff isn't exactly buying items that have high mark ups. However the last two times the person has bought stuff its been over 200 dollars. Today the person came in and bough over 100 dollars of various items, a few DVD sets, and some other odds and ends. Now I had someone comment to me a few days ago that this person sure is buying a lot of stuff recently. They're probably not going to be here much longer so they're getting everything at once.
Today I called my Lost prevention Hotline (yes there is such a thing and it helps a lot.) I pretty much told them the same thing as I did here.
Here's my problem. This is the third time Ive seem this person buying a lot of stuff. Should I wait until they do it again and raise a flag to my management? Should I mind my own business? Or should I talk to my management about this situation and have them keep an eye on the person?

I don't have a wireless router on my laptop, so I can't give you my opinion from outside.

But I'll give it to you anyway. How about talking to the person? That is, if you don't want to see them get fired over this. If not, go tell whoever you want the next time you see it because you know they're selling the shit on Ebay.

Considering its a newbie, he/she (oh fuck it) SHE might just be taking advantage of her privelige and think there's nothing wrong with it. I'd say a friendly warning to start, dropping in the fact that you work in loss prevention.

if the policy was made clear to the girl then she may have just taken the position for the discounts not worrying about losing her job

if the policy wasn't made clear to her then "if it'sossible for you" you should remind her, and then if it continues write her up. if it continues after that then terminate

I think it comes down to how "misuse" was explained if it was at all.

If your worried since your only in the position 3 months bring it up to Mgmnt to cover your ass.

Nobody is saying you CANT use it just dont abuse it, IE buy stuff with your friends money with YOUR discount. Only your parents, Significant other, and children under a certain age are allowed to ues YOUR discount

You are lucky, when i go there they try and shove a lot more down mine.

I hate the rules for employee discounts, but I guess it is for the better or else people would just go nuts. a place like bestbuy i can understand the limit WAY more than say a clothing store.

Thats too fucking funny. Sad but true we do try shoving that service plan down your throat. Although we make money off them more than half the time we break even on them. Do your self a favor though dont buy the 30 dollar usb cable. Buy it on Ebay or something. They make a fucking killing off of those things.
