I guess this isn't news to anyone who:

A. Already knows AOL eats dicks for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Or

B. Has AOL.

If someone with AOL already noticed this too, I apologize for not noticing.

I dail into AOL, I get their welcome screen and my buddy list pops up. Great. I close all that shit and hit my mail. All of a sudden, a new screen pops up, and I'm waiting for...........AN AD TO LOAD!!!!!!

WHAT THE FUCK?!?!?!

It didn't dawn on my until like 20 minutes ago that I am a PAYING customer to AOL, and for some reason, when you open your mailbox, it loads an ad at the bottom of the little window!

It's the only way I've ever connected to the internet, and it's really only bothered me in the last year or so after seeing how much better about every other kind of way you can connect to the internet is, especially faster connections.

That's what I've been trying to explain to my mother. Right now, she's playing the whole AOL bill. I told her I would pay half DSL, and we'd get speed. So her monthly payment would be 10 dollars less.

Yea, I know Hottub. Chill out on my mother, OK? She's not computer literate enough yet, and I told her I'd set her up a free E-mail account on whatever service she wanted. We'd send out a mass mail to her friends so they change her addy in their address books.

AOL helped get my family online, but now I see it's limitations when even put side by side with other dial up ISP's.

<p>Well I did it last night.&nbsp; I ordered Verizon DSL and that's that.&nbsp; I did the little bit of research online at work yesterday that I needed to do, and it wasn't even a choice.&nbsp; Optimum Online is 29.99 a month for the 1st 6 months, but then jumps to 49.99 after that unless you have that Triple deal, and we dont want that.&nbsp; So DSL is and stays 29.99 a month with a one year commitment, so that's what I did.&nbsp; </p><p>FUCK YOU to AOL.&nbsp; I REALLY hope that self installation kit gets here fast so I can set it up and get it moving.&nbsp; I do NOT want to pay AOL one more cent.&nbsp; I want to cancel it before May so they don't get to charge us another month.&nbsp; FUcking little homos.</p><p>So the age of 56K is finally over for me.&nbsp; May it never rest peacefully.</p>
