I had heard that Halle Berry was not going to be in this one. I see she's not listed in the IMDb (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0376994/). Anyone know for sure?

I can't wait for this movie but I'm afraid it will not live up to the first 2 movies.
I had heard that Halle Berry was not going to be in this one.
I'm praying she's not in it. She was awful as storm.

How could Angel not be in the first 2 movies? he's one of the original X-Men in the comics. Same with Ice Man (who isn't Ice Man yet, just some punk named Bobby)
If they gave Halle something good to do I bet she would have been better.
If Patrick and Ian are in this fim and Singer directs and is involved with the writing, it should be good.

I had heard that Halle Berry was not going to be in this one.
Yes, that was confirmed a while ago. She wanted a bigger part in a movie with like 6 leads in it! Greedy bitch.
As far as new mutants go, no one has mentioned Jean Grey's transformation! I really want to see how THAT looks.
Another Contra and LSP joint production

Halle recently said she's willing to come back if they beef up her part.
who isn't Ice Man yet, just some punk named Bobby
And Iceman's name is Bobby Drake in the comics, too.
If Patrick and Ian are in this fim and Singer directs and is involved with the writing, it should be good.
Singer has nothing to do with it. Both X3 and Superman are being pushed for the same summer.
And I can't wait to see how they do the Dark Phoenix storyline.

heh, yeah, they could shave her head and have Storm go through her "mohawk phase." or, if they want to do Gambit's origin, They'll make storm a central character, just have her played by a child.
Not only has Storm not been important to any X-men storyline that didn't actually "revolve" around her, but Halle was not very good in either of the first two movies

I just meant that they kid isn't using a code name like the other mutants, at least I don't remember them using the name "Iceman" but since they call him "Bobby" we all know they mean he's THE Iceman, not some other mutant with ice powers.

He called himself Iceman in the first movie when he introduced himself to Rogue i believe, or maybe it was an extended version scene im thinking of.
And they never used the codename in the second movie because he was just a student, him and Rogue didn't officially become X-Men until the very end when you see them in uniform with the others.

Gambit blows.
Like a frenchmen.
One of the key examples of everything that was wrong, especially with the X-franchise, in the 90's.
Isn't Singer still producing this one?

I can actually see her point, and give her better lines than: "Do you know what happens to toads struck by lightening? The same thing that happens to everything else."

To the movies? Probably not. The comics are a different story.

Halle will not be missed. She was a HORRIBLE storm...Storm is fucking African and she's claustrophobic, two things Singer completely tossed out the window in exchange for a big name star.
I hope they make Wolverine a less prominant character in this one. Enough is enough. There ARE other X-Men with interesting storylines as well...

Just because they USE Storm a lot in the comics doesn't actually make her interesting.
Most of the last 10+ years of editorial/writing decisons when it came to the X-titles have been piss-poor at best. The movies' biggest pluses so far have been how LITTLE they resemble the 90's version of the X-universe.

Yes and No Jeff.
Yes to the fact that Storm was not really represented well by Berry but she did do a decent job. I think they could do better with another actress maybe.
But with Wolervine? Yes they can and do have other storylines without Logan as the main focal point. Like Mr. Sinister or the Shadow King. I think the really showed Wolverine much better as a characheter and personality in Xmen2. Jackman did an outstanding job.
As much as it sucks we all have known about the Xmen for many years from the comics but they have to create storylines that will also attract people who are not comic geeks like you and I.
So by making Bobby Drake/Iceman more of a New Mutant instead of one of the original Xmen is a creative license we have to deal with. The same thing with Angel and Beast (who has a cameo in Xmen2 VERY briefly)
I am glad they are expanding the charachters. Gambit is a great role I hope they give more camera time to.
I for one am thrilled with the movie industry looking to comic books for ideas and storys now.
For so long they were an untapped resource.
Now we have 5 Batman movies (looks like the best is this years), a new superman, Spider man 3 is being written. Fantastic 4, Daredevil (which was not that bad), the Hulk (which was), Constantine (which I thought was very good), Sin City (which looks fantastic) and now they are coming out with V for Vendetta (with Natalie Portman) and they are also writing a movie for Wolverine alone with Jackman in it.
Things are looking up folks.
Now if they could make a Justice League movie or Avengers I think we are set.
