I think they are bringing him back with a different angle. His Injury really "changed" The way he looks at the world. Or some garbage like that.

I say this is a perfect opportunity to go with the angle I thought up a few months back. Have Eugene shave and cut his hair and come back as Eugene's brother Nick Dinsmore. Have him complain about the way his brother was treated and was there to defend his honor and take it out on the people Eugene trusted, like Regal. Then after awhile you can have him reveal some Eugene like tendancies and then eventually reveal that it's Eugene all along and he's got a split personality.
