1 team jon, thats kinda stupid, i know we have trouble fielding 2 teams
but. plus im not driving into manhattan and paying
to park or taking an hour to find a spot on the street, its not worth
it, especially if 20 people go and half of the people dont get to
play

fill both teams when its just the board vs each..dont get me wrong

I understand your trepidation, we have the field for 4 hours and I figured worst case senario we could have 2 games.

From reading your thread you guy's take the softball game kinda serious, which is exactly what we wanted, but it was more than just softball it is a chance for old friends to get reaquanted and to make new friends since we might all be sharing the same channel on xm radio really soon.

I like your guys enthuisem and i can tell you the members of oa.net are stoked to play some softball with people that want to take it seriously.

and i can guarantee you 20 people 50 people, everyone is going to get to play.

Well if the game is on the 20th I would not be able to attend. I have a family obligation that day and it is an all day event. I am also with Snoogans. It is kind of difficult to get into the city for a 4 hour game only. When we usually get together is lasts for 6 hours or more. fighting traffic and parking for only 4 hours is not worth it. (IMHO)I am looking into a field in Union county (again) for the 13th, if anyone is interested. But if it idoes happen for the 2oth...good luck to all!

Field contains bleachers, and picnic area. Coolers permited. 
 
Directions to East River Park Fields </h1>

 

East River Park
is on the Lower east Side of Manhattan. 
The field numbers refer to the baseball backstops. From South to North
the Fields are Grand Street, Houston
Street and East 6th Street. 

 

Directions to ERP 2 (Grand Street Field)

 

Take exit 3 from the FDR Drive
(South Street exit.)
From the North, take a left on Montgomery
Street and go under the highway into the FDR access road. When the chain link
fence on your right ends, the road widens out and there is a parking lot
entrance ahead to your right. 
This is a public Parks Department parking lot.  There should be no trouble parking here
 From the South at
the end of the exit ramp you will take a right into the parking lot  
The field is
about 200 yards north of the parking lot. 


Subway:  About 3/4
mile away; at Grand/Chrystie on the B & D or

Essex/Delancey
on the Q &V lines. GAME ON !  Whitefolks.

pants, first off, we discussed a possible game with another board in
may and everyone shit on the idea. #2, it might not be bad for a kid
from queens, but im not about to pay 6 bucks in tolls and deal witht he
hell and possible expense of parking in manhattan for 4 hours worth of
softball, not to mention carrying everything froma  parking
garage. People who want to go fine, but this isnt our softball game. In
fact we have a field lined up for a RONFEZ game down around the same
area as the poker tournie, BUT NOT THE SAME PARK(so jon dont worry
about lawsuits) on saturday, august 27th, BBQ and liquor and whatnot.
So before you flip out. Plus keep in mind, is it
really fun to have 1 RF team play another board, only to have 22 RF
people show up and then 11 did all that and dont get to play? and im
not showing up to a game where i play 2 or 3 innings and then have to
stop cause we need to get everyone in the game. We have enough people
for the board only game as we decided in may, lets just stay that way
please.  And im not saying dont go to the other
game if you want, but dont label that the RF game cause then no one
will come the week after when everyone will get to play

the last field is by justice, around 138 on the garden state parkway, i
forget the exact town name. Probably like 20 minutes fromt he lincoln
tunnel, half hour from the bridge

I left Justice a question in PM about the field.  As soon as it
is answered, we'll move ahead, but keep August 27th open for the RF.Net
game.August 20th is the OA.net game for anyone who wants to warm up for our game.

Aug. 27 is a definite right? I'll go tell some of my boys. Are
there Tennis or Basketball courts there? I can bring some of my stuff

Take the LIRR to Penn Station in NYC, then hop on the Path Train from NYC to NJ, you can take a Train from either Penn station Newark or the RR in Hoboken, but I t hink ADF knows best which one will get you closer. I would ask him.
