OKay you have too be patient with me I just got a playstation 2. All the games work except for GTA I can't get the thing to even begin to run it. Also I like just plain shoot em up games none of this sneaking around shit I like blowing shit up. What are sime good games for that?

Are you referring to the latest GTA? If so, there have been a lot of complaints about the older PS2's not being able to play this game. Mine isn't that old, but I had some problems with freezing every now and then. Very frustrating after you finish a hard mission and on your way back to a save point, everything locks up.

As for a solution, I really don't know what to tell you. If you do have one of the earlier PS2 models, you may actually have to get a new one in order to play GTA.

you can send your ps2 back to their headquarters for repair, if you pay to send it, theyll fix it and pay to send it back to you... alot of the time the eye that reads the disk falls too close to the disk and has trouble reading it... its a common problem and easily fixable (by them) hope this helpshttp://c.myspace.com/00070/55/00/70290055_m.jpg

In my research I found out some blue backed discs are a problem. i have GTA 3 it plays fine . Also fits the bill on being a good smash em grab em good time. I think those particular discs were bad. METAL GEAR 2 Solid snake is starting to get better that wasn't the disc that was just me being lame. A little practice a little patience and man it is cool as hell.

If you take apart the Playstation, remove the magnet that keeps the CD in place and expose the "eye". Above the eye there is a wheel that looks like a gear. Turn it a click clockwise and then test the game. That's basically what a young PS2 tech will do first so you may save yourself a few weeks this way. If that fails, smoke 2 joints and repeat the process. It will work eventually. I brought two machines back from the dead like dat...

You should just buy a new one. Everyone else does.

Sony relies on 2nd and 3rd owners of their consoles and now handhelds.
