how long does it take someone on average to fully recover from it? I ask because I know someone who was in the hospital for a week with it about a month ago, and they said they still aren't fully healthy and still sick. Partly this could because she didn't have any time off since it happened to really rest.

I had pneumonia, bronchitis and strep throat at the same time back in January, and I only missed a week of work. I was sick on Saturday, and honestly, by that coming Thursday I felt ready go back, but the doctor ordered me to stay home until the following Monday.

It probably hits people differently. If she's sickly to begin with, it'll probably hit her harder. Just be sure she's seeing a doctor if she's still sick. If she's not, she doesn't have much to fall back on.

I just thought I'd update you on this:

well she's not been doing well, let's just say tests were done at the time and something serious came up, and she's getting treatment. We talk via email everyday, and she told me she's trying to deal with all that's on her plate, hence why she wants to be "distant" at the moment so she can get her shit together. Fter she explained everything to me, I decided to wait it out until she's better (which made her real happy), and hopefully something good somes out of it

pneumonia always reminds me of my grandfather talking about how his dad died in his early 40's from pneumonia

my grandfather would ride with him on the horse and buggie delivering bread 'when he was 9 or 10'. then they taught his dad to drive the new trucks they began to use. his dad got pneumonia and the doctor told him straight up, "you work and you die". But he said "i got 8 kids to feed" and so he worked,,,, and he died...

big thing was 'no penicillin' back then

About 8 years ago I got pneumonia - I was sick for about a month. I wasn't hospitalized, but I took off of work for a week and barely made it in every day for the remainder of that month... it can take a while to recover from pneumonia depending on the person.

at my job i have to work over the phone alot and we have to often recite serial and part numbers or when speaking with people overseas you have to recite every letter of a specific word. so when i come to a letter p it's like: a as in alpha, d as in dog, and p as in pneumonia

i usually get a giggle on the other end... got that off some comedian years ago

well she is over the pneumonia, she's getting treatment for what the doctors found in some tests, which takes a while, and btw that, the mental stuff (she's trying to deal with the news she got) and her job in general, she's not much for company. Despite that I'm waiting for her but still communicating with her everyday with emails, something she said she loves and cherishes.
