I thought RAW was a much better effort than last week. But here's a few thoughts on tonight's show.
For the love of God, just make Jericho heel already! Personally, I think Y2J works better as a heel. Now's the time to do it. I wouldn't be surprised to see Jericho vs. Rock at the next PPV.
I liked the title match at the end of the show. Of course, the WWF kind of tipped their hand before RAW, as they droned on and on about how important this match was....which sort of pointed to the fact that Angle was dropping it to Austin. The purpose for the title change is supposed to be to give Angle a little heat, since they want No Mercy to again be Austin vs. Angle for the title . I like the two of them together, but after two PPVs AND a RAW match, I think they need to change things up a little after No Mercy.
I don't know if it's because I'm a "smart" fan, but the Regal turn was just painfully obvious.
As for the rest of the show....the Rock / Jericho vs. RVD / Shane match was pretty good. Everything else, though, was pretty much EXACTLY why the Alliance angle has failed. You have the Alliance members, who aren't trying to take over the WWF so much as they are trying to take up space, getting jobbed out to every WWF star imaginable. Why give the Hardy Boyz the tag straps? You go through all of the trouble of giving Booker T & Test heat by giving them the straps, and then about 2 weeks later you job them out to the Ambiguously Gay Duo. You want to know why the Alliance has failed, there you go. Cause a) they don't do anything important, and b) they get jobbed left and right.
But I better enjoy it while I can. Because when Vince brings in the NWO (and he will, unfortunately), things will really start going to hell.
