I just wanna see what you guys think regarding Chinese Democracy. Does anyone think it will be good? or will it even be released? I dont think its gonna be released but if it is I dont think it will be any good since axl wants to go do the industrial thing

I think it will sell a few copies just based on the curiousity factor but, all in all....it will flop.

Axl's voice (back in the day) was a gimmick. Since then, he has COMPLETELY lost his voice so, he can't even market THAT.

Pop music in general has an expiration date. I don't care if you're Mariah or Mellencamp...once you and your CORE fanbase grow up...you stop selling massive amounts of records. There are no exceptions to this rule.

It's also important to mention that the entire GENRE that GnR used to own is completely DEAD. Deader than dead. Have fun in the clubs Axl.

I don't see it being released either. Nor do I see it attaining cult status as a great "lost" album. Sooner or later, bootlegs will be hitting the street and people will wonder what the big deal was.

Somewhere Buckethead is laughing his bucket off.

due to poor sales they will probably have to 'slash' the price

ten years too late to even care ...

i detest g&r, but the record will never be as good as it could've been ... the expectation levels will be so high if one note is misplaced the critics/fans will be unforgiving ...

the best axl could do, is get the band back together, including izzy, put out a record in six months and tour behind it over the next two decades ... they could become the new stones they were destined to be ...

or he can just stay home and count his millions ...

I'll likely give it a listen, but at this point it would have to have the impact of Metallica's black album to be worth the wait.

In 2000 or 2001 (I'm forgetting the exact year and am too lazy to look it up), Axl came out of hiding with his new GnR and actually played the first songs off C.D. I got them off napster at the time because I had to hear them. I'm sure many others did too. Now, it'sw about 5 years later, and the hype and novelty and worn off. Had the cd come out then, it would have sold like gangbusters. Now, it'll be a footnote in GnR history.

Has there been a release date or some kind of announcement made about this?
I'd check it out. I still listen to my "Appetite for Destruction" and the "Use Your Illusion" CDs. Damn, I'm getting old.

about two years ago, there was was an article every six weeks about how the record was scheduled/postponed/rescheduled ... then there was the MTV performance, kurt loder asked about the new record and axl said blah, blah ,blah ... then that aborted tour was really the last we've heard from the corn-rowed axl ...

the/a record should be released, take the hit ... and start over ... but he's way too mentally fucked to act that simple ...

for all the nonsense -- waiting hours for stage time and ten years for a new record, i'd be surprised is anyone really cared ...

I'll download it illegally. If he didn't wait so long I'd be forced to buy it since it wasn't so easy to steal music back when they were big.
How is that Velvet Revolver band doing? A bunch of the real GnR is in that group, right?
