Anyone heard the new System of a Down single? It's available on iTunes and through other "means." And it fucking rocks. ROOOOOOOOOOCKKKSSSSS!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait for their new album, which will be follower by another in the fall.
BTW, the name of the single is BYOB. The name of the album is Hypnotize. Sorry for being confusing.

EDIT: Dammit! I knew I should have checked first. The album coming out in May is called Mesmerize, and the one in the fall is called Hypnotize.

I have been waaay into System since the first album , but I really don't like the new single at all. I don't know what it is, whether it's the incredibly long layoff between new stuff or just the fact that it isn't good music.

Hmm.. didn't know such a thing existed. Let me go listen to it now.

[listening]

I really want to like this song but it seems to have a little bit too much thrash metal fast screaming in it between the chorus parts.

But besides for that it's pretty cool. Sort of thing I would put on during an angry night of drinking. This, some Spineshank, Rammstein, etc. and a bottle of Jagermeister.

Okay, besdies that, listening to it now for the second time and I think it is growing on me. Thumbs up.

Chop Suey is still my favorite song though.

I don't mind them being political, it's just the political stuff doesn't really mesh well with their music. I actually like B.Y.O.B., but once they start with the "Why don't presidents fight the war, why do we always send the poor" shit, it just doesn't flow well at all. I guess I mean to say that they're very awkward with the political messages. Rage did it much better, although I personally hate RATM (and though I know Mojo will NEVER agree, I find Audioslave to be superior. Although not that Audioslave is actually great or anything).

i guess you cut off both ears da vinci b/c its a fantastic album...not as commercially accessible as the last couple of albums but the album is musically brilliant...harmonies and arrangements are trademark SOAD but I feel the creativity here has been elevated beyond that of a band which generally improves from album to alblum, this is was like a supercharge to the neurons...
