<p>Other stations around the country are running very similar things. </p><p>On
one hand I can see their problems; WJFK needs to do something to
counteract all of thefree publicity sat radio is getting on Stern and
R&F, but it's a bit hypocritical to crow about being FREE radio
when you force listeners to 20 minutes of commercials every hour -
including spots for satellite radio! </p><p>Why WJFK does that is
beyond me. I also don't get them running back to back commercials for
prime time shows during their prime time programming. REALLY shows it's
more about the ad revenue than caring about the actual listeners. </p>

<p>Technically, listening to sat radio for "free", is called stealing,
no matter how you slice it. Also, technically speaking, FM radio IS
free, because we as listeners, don't have to pay out of our pockets.
Now, I'm not a big fan of corporate entities, whose only concern is to
make money, and don't care about US or their talent, BUT... How do you
suppose radio stations get revenue ? They have to sell advertising
space in order to maintain their space and positions. It's part of
their economy, and money doesn't just grow out of asses unfortunately. </p><p> </p><p>With that said, I'll now grab todays OnA torrent for archiving purposes.</p><p> </p><p>Oh,
I totally forgot to add that: I think satellite radio is still the way
of the future. Terrestrial radio offers an incredibly narrow spectrum
of music, (amongst other forms of entertainment) and that's
putting it lightly. With satellite, you actually get what you pay for.
You have a choice as to what you want to hear, via real requests and
show interaction. I personally, would rather pay per month for
something that I would actually get some use out of, than be offended
by what some big corporation THINKS I should be listening to based on
the shit which the teeny bopper/Mtv gen kids are brainwashed into
believeing is hip/cool/ and "today". <br />

People w/ XM can still listen to "free" radio. As for the prime time television ads, again... it's ad-revenue, and many people (including myself) record or Tivo primetime TV and watch it later. Look at how much Ron & Fez talk about Tivo.<br />

<p><a href="http://members.cox.net/nicksporsche/xmRadioAd.mp3" target="_blank">Advert heard on "Free" radio</a></p><p>And yes, you can get XM or Sirius for free by stealing it, I didn't mean to make it sound like I was justifing it as not stealing.</p><p>I see no problem with downloading older shows but the new shows being streamed for free is wrong in my book. If you want to listen to O&A live as you drive to work, buy an XM radio. If you want to listen to a day old show on your iPod, go for it.</p><p> <a href="http://www.xmradio.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://members.cox.net/nicksporsche/wwjbd.jpg" border="0" /></a></p><p> "<strong>We're putting the band back together.</strong>"</p>
