It started an hour ago. Utah
QB Alex Smith was taken 1st by the 49ers, RB Ronnie Brown was taken 2nd
by the Dolphins. No teams in our area pick anytime soon (Jets, Giants,
Redskins, Eagles). But there should be a lot of trades. Travis Henry,
Shaun Alexander and Darren Howard have been
mentioned.

as a Chiefs fan my offseason was made yesterday.  very happy with the Surtain trade and i'd be happy to see them draft Thomas Davis today or one of the WRs.  if somehow Carlos Rogers falls i'd be very happy with him also.

Benson interview? Sounds like all the teams treated him like shit, and
from the way he was talking I believe him. It was pretty shitty that
everyone held Ricky Williams against him simply because he was another
big black running back with dreadlocks.

everyone is just drafting by need. i thought the raiders should have taken rodgers, especially considering berkeley and oakland are 5 minutes away from each other, but going to green bay is good- if you can overcome the following farve issue.

This has been the GREATEST SEASON TO HAVE BEEN AN AUBURN FAN EVER!13 - 0, and now 4, count them, FOUR players taken in the first round, and 3 of those in the TOP TEN!!!FYI for Skins Fans, you've got TWO GREAT players!  Carlos Rogers is a STUD!  I know I'm biased, but I thought he was the best CB on the board!  I was shocked that Arizona passed on him.  Jason Campbell suffered from multiple O-Coordinator changes, and never really broke out until his Senior year.  Under Al Borges, he finally got the chance to show his skills.  He and Caddillac and Ronnie held a workout on the AU campus last month, and from what I heard, Jason was winging it 60 yards FLAT FOOTED!  He's got a GUN, and was hitting most everyone in the numbers all season.This should help make for a HUGE recruiting class next year!  This puts us up there with Florida State, Miami, USC, etc. for a place that blue chip recruits might consider due to how many players they've sent to the NFL."It's GREAT to BE an AUBURN TIGER"WAR DAMN EAGLE!

I gotta agree with you about Campbell...I mean, hes not as good as
Smith or Rogers, but definitely underrated comin out. Also, how does a
guy who won the Heisman his Junior year and finished in the top 5 his
senior year drop so damn far...

Everytime they asked him today about either Romeo Crennel or the Pats

Uhhhhh, how did Brien cost the Jets a draft pick?BTW, if there's a kicker was massive accuracy at 50+ yards playing in the BIG FUCKING 10, I'm more than willing to waste a 2nd round pick on him, especially since most of the holes on offense have been sealed up for the year.

If Brien didn't fuck up the
season, like if the Jets lost to the Steelers for some other reason,
the Jets wouldn't be drafting a kicker this high. This is like when the
Raiders missed the playoffs because their kicker kept on costing them
games and they picked Janikowski in the first
round.

Miller is a helluva player. Ive always liked the system Clemson has in
place and he was a big part of it. Cant wait to see what he can do for
the Jets. I think hes ready to jump right in and be their nickel...

Wow...from the way the draft has gone, youd think no one really needs a
QB, which couldnt be farther from the truth. The fact that Frye fell to
the 3rd round is beyond me. The fact that only 3 QBs were taken in the
first 2 rounds is ridiculous.

I thought the 3rd round was way too early to draft Clarett. I think he
shouldve dropped to at least the 5th round and I have many doubts that

8 games, 8 years would be quite impressive. im
just goin by what physical abilities i see, and how McPhearson seemed
to be able to grasp the game in arena shows he has just as much chance
mentally as these guys, and i think he is a much better athlete

Theres no doubt hes a better athlete, I just dont think hes a better
quarterback. I also dont think hes a guy you can build around quite as
well as you can around a guy like Smith.

alex smith is overrated. i know he did amazing in college, but id say
arena is better then college, since most of those guys are college and
former pro players. he lit it up at QB, the couple times i saw him he
actually made good decisions. i think some team is gonna get a huge
steal here today

If you wanna talk about good decisions on the field, Alex Smith is
probably as good as they get. McPherson will be a steal. And he will be
a solid starter in the league. But even if he does better than Smith,
which I dont think he will, Smith will still be the more successful
Quarterback.

His consecutive completions against USC is a little inflated. 
He did not complete any big passes, and almost all of them were within
10 yards of the line of scrimmage.  Is he efficient?
Yes.   Does he posssess the big play/big arm? Who
knows.  Good pickup by GB, they got lucky that someone of his
caliber was available. As far as the small number of
QBs taken, it was a bumper year for RBs and WRs.  Most of the
teams that needed QBs also needed a RB or reciever.  There will be
a few good QBs next year, but this class of backs and recievers won't
come around again for a while

A Mac was in the arena league Snoogans.  All they do is throw and score, inflating all the offensive stats.  It's a league where athletic ability trumps coaching and skill.  The NFL is way more mentally taxing and strategic.  A Mac is a fucking moron and just like Randy Moss, I'd pass on him any day.  The poster who said he might have good stats vs. Smith having great career success is right on.  It's like comparing Aaron Brooks to Tom Brady.  Brooks can pretty much outperform Brady in any area in a practice due to his athletic prowess.  Yet Brady is a leader/general who makes great calls, has great instincts and knows the game.  Not to mention, Brooks character isn't in question like A Mac's.

So overall do ya think the Giants and the Jets filled their needs? Does anyone but me care about the draft anymore? Does anyone want to win the Heisman from now on?I think the Jets probably did just enough to stay at the same record with the kick in the genitals that their sced will give them this year. Whether or not that means a playoff spot (MY Ravens seem to have gotten a lot better and who knows what Jones will do for the Jags, although the Bills somehow took a step back and might be worse if they try to force some of the shit they got onto their team) is another story.The Giants could compete for a playoff spot if their few picks step up and are able to help out. Once again who knows with what the 'Boys, Cards, and Lions could do with the guys they got.And there wound up being 14 QB's picked I think overall (and Tommy Chang I think signed with the Cards, so 15). ESPN wants us to believe that one of the lower picked QB's will be the next Brady, and odds say at least one will be a starter for a while, but I mean the only guys I see stepping up from those gotten in the later rounds are Frye, Walter, and Lefors. And even then I don't think that they are ever going to win championships or anything.I guess someone could say who they thought wound up turning out best (Cards, Browns, and Cowboys maybe are third for me) or worst (Bills, SHawks, and Broncos not only cause of Clarett but because they also picked up like 4 nameless corners).....if anyone cares.
