The Celts really need to start off good tonight. All of their loses have been fucking terrible.<br />
<center>
<img border=0 src="http://home.comcast.net/~rmfallon/RFnetDamon.jpg"></center>
<p>WHAT ARE YOU DOING PAUL PIERCE!!?!?!?!</p><p>For
those not watching, Celtics are up by 1 with 12 seconds, and inbounding
the ball. They get the ball to Paul Pierce, and he is fouled. The guy
fouling him MIGHT have grazed his face. Pierce responds by shoving him
to the ground. STUPID STUPID STUPID! He picks up a technical, which
means the Pacers get a free throw, which ties the game. But to compound
that, Pierce already has a technical, so he's ejected! And the Pacers
now get to pick whoever they want to shoot the free throws. They pick
Kendrick Perkins, who's hardly played and predictably, misses BOTH FREE
THROWS! The Celts were able to stop the Pacers from scoring on the next
possesion, but they're going to overtime and will play without Pierce.
Very very stupid by Paul Pierce.<br />
</p>

<font size="2" face="Century Gothic">The Celtics really
sucked it up and played well in overtime. Paul Pierce is a very lucky
and stupid man. I think Kendrick Perkins should have the right to kick
his ass.</font><br />

<p>Well its been a while...My Bullets really didn't have the talent to advance that far in the play offs....they really need a defensive stopper, but theyve got to pay Larry Hughes and are probably going to lose Terps Legend Juan Dixon as a result....id like to see what they can get in a Kwame Brown sign-and-trade....</p><p>In any case, no one is going to beat the Spurs, IMO...they are incredible...and what makes them so incredible is that they can adapt to any style you want to play them, they can run(with Parker and Ginobli), they can play half-court, theyve got a ton of guys that can kill you with threes, like Glenn Robinson, and Brent Barry, and theyve got the greatest clutch-shooter of all time, Robert Horry, who played incredibly last night.....</p><p>And speaking of last night, how about that UNBELIEVEABLE shot by Ginobli? the behind-the-back one in the fourth quarter? I think that's got to go very high in the pantheon of all time great shots, right up there with Magic's hook shot against the Celtics, or Jordan's shot over Ehlo or Terps Legend Drew Nicholas' shot against UNC Wilimington in the NCAA Tournament....</p><p>That series is over...San Antonio never loses at home...i think they only lost there 3 times during the whole regular season</p>

i just wanted to add, and i mean this as no offense to you el mudo, but if you look at the time between postings on this thread it seems nobody gives a shit about basketball. why? if i happen to pass it (i usually don't pass a cable powerhouse like TNT when i'm flipping around) and it's in the last 2 minutes of the game ill watch. as far as i'm concerend they should start every game at 90 and 2 minutes on the clock.

<p>Spurs closed out the Suns tonight...</p><p>The result doesn't look like it, but that was one tough series, and a lot of fun to watch...That kid Stoudemire is a stud...once he polishes his game and learns he can't keep driving right at Tim Duncan...look out....</p><p>Couldn't work out any better now for the Spurs...they get a week to rest Duncan's ankles, and watch Detroit and Miami beat the living hell out of each other...</p>

<p>i only go with Wade being better on 2 things. One, without shaq,
they still made the Conf Finals last year, when wade was a rookie. Man
they shoulda kept my boy Skip (Rafer Alston)</p><p>also, when wade
plays big games, he usually carries his team to a victory, and score
like 8 of his 4th quarter points in the last couple mins.</p><p> As
evidenced by last night, Amare just has big games, but doesnt lead his
team to win. Also, i dont think Amare is even the best player on his
team. He may have the most talent, and the best scoring presence, but
he has alot more game to polish, and he looks twice as good cause Nash
makes him look that good.</p><p> </p><p>Kinda like how Kidd made Martin look good, even though we now know he sucks without that great PG. </p><p>Wade
played well as a rookie without shaq and led his team, and now with
shaq playin like a sissy girl, he is still leading his team </p>

easy big guy, Duncan is probably the best player in the league, but
best ever, you gotta be high. Remember the tallest guy guarding him is
like 6'9, Det has no real big center. Duncan is a great player, and may
one day be an all time great, but he is no where near the best player

I can't wait to see Phil have a disasterous year with the Lakers. It's about time he picked up a failing team instead of jumping on board a pre-constructed championship team.
We'll see how good a coach he acutally is now...<br>...assuming LA doesn't sign Shaq, LeBron, Garnett, and Michael Jordan from 1993 between now and next season.<br><br>

<p>Tim Duncan is good but he hasn't been around that long to consider him the greatest. It's hard to even call him the best at his position right now - because you can argue KG, Duncan, or Dirk (even though he plays little D) as the best PF in the league right now.</p><p>But best PF - Kevin McHale was better (who do you think taught KG his low post game), Barkley was better, Karl Malone was better and these are just guys of my generation</p><p>Duncan is good but not the best - Tim Duncan is the best underrated player of all time that i will give you</p>

You guys are missing the point. He's still got like 10 years to play.

A big turn off of the new NBA is the lack of fundamentals and the

great bright light. but guess what, he still isnt close to the best

<p>well thats tricky Mudo. Doug collins was the coach when the bulls
first made the playoffs that year that Jordan hurt his ankle and missed
alot of the regular season.</p><p>When jordan came back, Krause or
reinsdorf told Collins not to let jordan play more then like 20 minutes
a game, so they would lose and get a lottery pick. collins played
jordan, then made the playoffs, and phil jackson replaced collins
because of it </p>

<p>to back up Mudo a little, i think this part of that Simmons article sums it up best for those who wont read it:</p><p></p>
<p>In a league loaded with guys who believe they're better than they
actually are, Horry understands his own strengths and limitations
better than anyone. That's what makes him so great. And that's why I
like the poker analogy for him. He's the guy sitting at the table with
a towering stack of chips, the guy who never chases a bad hand, the guy
who makes your heart pound when he's staring you down. You never
remember the hands he lost, but you always remember the ones he won.
And when he finally cashes out and gets up from the table, you hope you
never have to see him again. </p>
<p>Does that make him a Hall
of Famer some day? Before this spring, I would have said no … and then
Steve Nash won the MVP. Now I'm prepared for anything. But you know
where I stand. Instead of making Horry's case in full, I'm telling you
a story that hasn't even happened yet. Maybe it will be this summer,
maybe next summer, maybe 15 years from now. But when ESPN Classic shows
Game 5 of the 2005 Finals some day and I'm calling my buddy House just
to tell him, "Turn on Classic, they're showing the Robert Horry Game,"
I can pretty much guarantee his response: </p>
<p>"Which one?" </p>

<p>and yea, i can let people be the greatest...when they are. Tim
Duncan isnt even close, he isnt even the best player at his position
all time. Horry is the GREATEST role player in NBA history, ill give
him that, but still, its gotta be reggie for one big shot. </p><p> </p><p>reggie for one big shot, Michael is the best basketball player ever</p><p> </p><p>and
for one more greatest, Barry Sanders is the greatest RB in NFL history,
dont even try to say he isnt, cause you are crazy. its not walter, its
not jim brown, its not eric dickerson (which i know wadd's dumbass
would say)....its fuckin BARRY<br />

I'd say Horry over Reggie, even considering what Reggie's done to the Knicks, for one reason... Every year Horry's done it, it's been in the Finals. Whether it was killing the Knicks in '94 on the Rockets, or the year after that, or his 3 years in LA, or this year... It's always in the biggest game of the year, not the 1st or 2nd round of the Playoffs. Reggie's one time in the Finals, he shit the bed. As far as pure CLUTCH, I put Horry right up there with Jordan.

<p>yea but here is the thing, for awhile, reggie was the only great
player in indy. horry was on the rockets with kenny smith and hakeem
and a few other good players, and then the lakers</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>he
was there every year cause the other guys on the team. reggie still did
it every year, they just didnt really make the finals, his were all
eastern conf playoff moments </p>

<p>Best Shooting Performance The Game Has Seen</p><p>Bernard King</p><p></p><p>He almost single-handely led the Knicks to a 3-2 first round series win over the Detroit Pistons as he posted over 40 points in four games and 36 in the other. King averaged 34.8 ppg in the entire 1984 NBA Playoffs, before losing in the Eastern Conference Semifinals to the Boston Celtics in seven games. </p><p></p><p>reason being is Bernard never relied on a pick, head fake, fade away or double pump. he waited for you to get in his face and then he would take his shot.... </p>

Yeah, but I didn't say Horry was a better player than Reggie, I just said he's proven to be more clutch in bigger spots. Horry may have gotten to those big spots with help from others, while Reggie was the guy carrying the team. But it's a question of clutchitude.

<p>Ginobli's ball handling at the end pretty much did them in... at least 3 turnovers at the end of the game</p><p>plus foul shooting again by Duncan was poor</p>

<p>Simmons made another interesting point to-day</p><p> </p><p> </p><font style="font-size: 9px" face="Verdana">quote: </font>Sure, the purists appreciate the defensive rotations, the way Detroit protects the rim, how Bowen fights through screens and everything else. But we're headed in a dangerous direction and have been for 3-4 years now – at the highest level, the good defenses are <em>too</em> good, and smart teams (like the Pistons and Spurs) have figured out how to use bumping/bodying/clutching/grabbing to their advantage. So that puts the game in the hands of the referees, the vast majority of whom range from "mediocre" to "impossibly incompetent." Other than the Phoenix games, this entire playoffs has been one long continuous foul/non-foul followed by someone complaining about what was/wasn't called. What's fun about that? <p> </p><p> </p><p>This sounds EXACTLY like what happened to the NHL in the late 90s, when people (who should burn in hell) invented the Trap and the Left Wing Lock...and killed speed and offence in the game...</p><p>At least theyre not going to lockout...</p><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v53/monster6sixty6/guests/elm_sig.gif" border="0" /> <strong>....We haven't seen the sun since '71</strong>Thanks Monsterone!!

people on this board remember when the Knicks were good?</p><p> </p><p>They used to make the playoffs and everything. </p><p> </p><p>Also Snoogans once again. MJ = GOAT, I said Duncan could be the greatest and nobody would care. </p>

Wow, they're really pushing this Game 7 like it's the biggest event in the history of sports... The NBA must really need money. Back in the day (1994), NBA Game 7's sold themselves.
